When I enlisted in the navy back in 2000, I was sitting across the desk from the career counselor and he asked me what I wanted to do in the NAVY.
First words, gunners mate on a battleship. Nope. No spots (billets) open for that rate. So I said, " I wanna be a helmsman, i wanna drive the boat!'
See even me, once a civilian, said "drive the boat". And I still do!

IRT "Driving the ship": We do the same thing in the USN, but to add further insult to injury we say "driving the boat" 😀
Funniest part to me was the destroyer firing 5 inch guns straight into the bow of a Montana-class battleship from like 2.2 km.
I would have said "Just what exactly did you expect to accomplish here?"
I started world of warships 3 months ago and one thing I can't stand is invisible ships stealth or whatever you want to call it in all reality I think it's bullshit that they would have something like that a ship that disappears how stupid…

I'm a jack of all trades…I mainly played battleships, until I got frustrated by being a n00b in a Colorado, so I sold it, bought two destroyers, a Pan-asian tier 3 and the Wakatake, I got the Russian tier 3 cruiser and the brand new French battleship, Turenne. I'm a lot happier with a variety of low tier ships than I was with a couple of high tier ships that I'm frustrated with. I kept the Fushun, I happen to like it. I can say from the experience I am getting, you can have plenty of hair raising moments in destroyers, but they are far from overpowered…they definitely fit in the category of "glass cannon." Lots and lots of alpha damage at distance…but extremely fragile.
