1. I'm a new player and the German BB and cruiser lines are the first lines i'm grinding atm 💀

   But agreed, i noticed that there are a whole lot more German battlecruisers around. Especially the schlieffen is everywhere it seems

2. So what are the good BB trees to grind?

   I disagree with SLM about Dutch cruiser's armour. I find the Dutch cruiser's armour extremely troll. Hit them full broadside and nothing but overpenns because their citadel sits at the waterline. Aim at the waterline and your AP shells go splash. I've seen too many Dutch cruiser's show broadside on purpose because they know their citadel is hard to hit even when you know where it is. And they get away with it.

3. it hurts what happened over time (with nearly every new CA line entering the game) to IJN CA line and the same with IJN Torp DD. You don't want to play them anymore due to long reload time, slow torp speed, rather low range (except these trolling extra slow & visible 20km torps) and enough time to react on them, when they get into sight (at least 0.5 seconds earlier in sight in comparison to most / all other t10 DD torpedoes even with apropiate Mod slots and captains skills, a 0.8 to a full second in comparison to torp DD like Halland, Jäger, Benham with F3 torps on Shima, with Type 93 mod.3 an additional 0.5 seconds ). Sure, they hit hard… but when you think of the problems all torp DD have nowadays with far too many radar, hydro, spotting by planes, Subs, too many Gun Boats (even with their own radar)… sigh

8. Sea lord, you can do some extremely explicit naughty activities involving the words suck or eat re: the German bb’s. With a little luck and not letting the other team gang up on you until you’re in their midst spitting fire and taking names, the Germans with jutjens were the absolute most glorious death ride possible, and often sheer firepower wins!

9. Jokes on you. The first line my gf did was German BBs, the US CLs all the way to TX, now she's working on Italian BBs while I am finishing French DDs.

10. I feel like this list should have been titled "Top 5 Lines to FXP Through", because (maybe excepting the Preussen) all of these have perfectly worthwhile T10s and even some of the T9s, it's just painful to grind through. Then you could exchange German BBs for Pan-Asian CLs maybe.

12. Nurnberg and Yorck are both good cruisers in the right hands. Ive scored Krakens in Nurnberg. But the trick is you cannot afford to go without support and you simply cant stop manoeuvring. If you steer in a straight line for more than a few seconds you'll be dev struck. Incoming fire Alert is a must-have.

17. I put off grinding any line that's not battleships. I lack the reflexes for cruisers and destroyers, I despise how fragile all cruisers are (broken class imho), submarines are boring cancer, and I don't play a naval combat game in order to fly planes: WoWP is —-That Way—->.

24. I definitely agree with the Dutch Cruisers (and I had such high hopes for them) and the Italian Battleship line (though you forgot the shining star which is not in the line itself the GC, the first of the "spaghetti" wagons).

26. You need to play through the Dutch line again, I was dreading the grind when they came out, but they turned out pretty capable.

    The Drops are so good at supplementing mediocre guns and they are pretty tough ships. Haarlem was surprisingly affective.

27. I did the exact opposite. I'm grinding the hardest lines in order to play better. If everything is easy you dont really learn how to play the game properly.

29. For me, the Italian dd line needs to be an honorable mention. I've seen people play them as mini Paolo Emilios at the lower tiers but their torps don't not do enough damage to kill a heavy and then they are a sitting duck. There are so much better dd lines to concentrate on first, leave these until the end.

30. Well i do agree most of the Dutch CA line is meh, Gouden Leeuw is quite a solid ship, especially equipped with her leg mod. She is sneaky, has good HE and AP, one of the few tech line ships with strong AA, well armoured and her repair has a fast cool down

32. Speaking as someone who just started recently(two months ago) and started on the German Mainline BB line it’s really not that bad. You genuinely just need to stay close to the largest group of ships on the map and push in when the team hits half strength. To say you literally just play support for the first 5-10 minutes is an understatement but the second enough enemy ships die to where pushing won’t get you instantly killed happens you can really push in and mess some people up. I mean I Krakened in a FDG for gods sake you just have to be patient.

33. Don't know why I have always done so well in the Nurnberg. It is slow and made of tinfoil. No range on the torps and no hp. However the guns are amazing-especially if you are top tier. Accurate with superb range for the tier and a quick reload. Bottom tier and it is a real problem. However, I did try it out in ranked and went 10-2. It is great in ranked as there are fewer chances to really screw up with only six enemy ships out there. Very good at fighting DDs and other CAs. Just don't get hit. Simple.

37. The German cruiser line was second and German battleship line was the first line in ground to tier 10. I have reground the cruiser line 3x, BB lines once each ( I think this correct). I both these research bureau ships in this order: Ohio; Siegfried; Paolo Emilo; Illinois. I play the ships in coop.

40. The german BB line is way way wayyyy worse than the italian BB line, especially at t8+, the italian bb line at t8-10 is one of the most enjoyable lines in my opinion

42. One I'd lay off on grinding today is the German Carrier line. Back in the day the Graf Zep and the Richthofen were the sh!ts and king of the skys and close secondary at the same time. Now with all the nerfs and power creeps, they've been relegated to the back shelf for years. Just not worth the grind at all in today's meta.

    "Hey Wargaming!?! How many Grafs and Richs do you see being played at all today? NONE!?! Go Figure…" I see more Aquilas and Bearns being played then Grafs and the Graf still has devastating secondaries.

    ps – I do like the Aquila in Operations and Ranked.

    Can you make some videos of "top five lines to grind to have fun- 1st half of 2024" and then a video for each class, dont bother with cv and subs because fuck that shit 🤣
    The videos should not be based around "best lines" but more on which is the most fun lines, since its a game and (no matter how hard WG tries with their subs and CV's) its actually meant to be played to have fun.
    I think it would be great with 1 video for top 5 dd lines, 1 video for top 5 CA lines, 1 video for top 5 CL, 1 video for top 5 BB and 1 video for top 5 BC lines.

    I personally would love content like this, let 2024 be the year we focusing on having fun in WOWS 🥳

45. I'm surprised the UK CL and CA lines aren't here. The CA line is just garbage; Goliath is the only good ship in it, the rest are meh to sh*t. I'd play the US, German or IJN CA's over these any day! The CL's are still for me the hardest tech line in the game to get right because of how easily they can be dev-struck (Emerald especially!!). That said, I love my UK CL's; Leander, Fiji, Edinburgh and Mino are powerful ships if played right.
    I like the Zao line, they're good kiters, lovely HE and great conceal. I'm sure I've seen that the Zao line has better DPM than the Yodo line?

46. Subjective for sure. I would most certainly remove the Dutch CA line from the list: after T7 they are pretty amazing. Totally disagree regarding armor as in my experience they are among the most tanks cruisers you can get. I am often the last ship alive. They are great fire starters and the planes + armor at T8/T9 are brilliant. I would also bump the Italian BBs down to 2, and make #1 the Pan Asian CL line. Those things get citadeled by SECONDARY GUNS!!! Absolutely not a line for the inexperienced.

48. I would agree with your comments on the Dutch cruiser line. Not so much on the other lines. All lines have a few rough spots but are not so bad to just avoid the grind.
