In which a pair of USS Benhams seal-club a group of extremely unfortunate tier 10s. Yes, that’s a thing now.

  1. The Orage is a new T9 French "theoretical" DD, released for Closed Test 13.4 about 3 months ago. 3×2 127mm guns, 7% fire chance on the HE, decent HE and AP damage, 18,100 base HP, 19mm plating. 3×3 550mm torpedo launchers – max damage 23,400, 12km range, 70kt speed, 1.5km detectability, 120s reload. Not bad on the torpedoes, guns are decent, but lacking in consumables – it literally only has DCP and a 30% Engine Boost.

  3. when I was first learning the game, I would ask my son, who got me into it, about the ships I was up against. so the first time I came across a Benham, I asked him "How many torpedoes does the Benham have?" He answered, "All of them. It has ALL the torpedoes." "Oh . . ." LOL

  4. The Orage is a new French tech tree dd, and it's going to be the tier 9 ship. They look kind of fun. Not necessarily better than the mainline dds, but they have a new torp gimmick where their torps do less damage the further they travel. So in essence, they seem to play like the Yolo Emilio

  5. I picked up the Benham a while back from a super container. It's a good ship but not exactly what I consider fun. Mostly I only pull it out when Wargaming is totally effing me with shit teams and bad rng.

  6. When you and your buddy do enough damage to kill 2/3 the enemy team, and enemy had an afk, and still BARELY win… lol

  7. Jingles . . . After careful research, your info about the Benham being a Tier 9 Premium /coal ship is a bit out of date. It is no longer available. the only Tier 9 U.S. destroyer is the Halford. That is available for coal.

  8. I really enjoyed the Benham when it was still a regular ship in the US DD line. Having not played for a while I'm wondering what ship I now have in that spot.

  9. Disagree on the analysis of the cyclone's effects, sir. The only thing the cyclone does is makes the battleships spotted at 8k instead of whatever, 14-ish, the DD's stealth isn't affected at all.

  10. To be fair to the Vermont at the end, maybe he wasn't sure if he would win with the one cap. If he contested another, he'd be sure.

  11. Maybe the Vermont couldn't put the numbers together on the fly and know that he would be ahead on points after 2 minutes? After all, he was behind on cap points so to him it probably looked like he was gonna loose and didn't have any choice than to go after the destroyers.

  12. Choke n stroke driving that "removed"/op ship that shits out more torpedoes than may be available in a naval port. Fitting name.

  13. I hate the stupid "magic missiles" callout because it says to turn to avoid them but… that isn't how magic missiles work! You can't dodge magic missiles you can only block them with the shield spell or barriers of either force or anti-magic. The voices are annoying and they are not even saying accurate information.

  14. Regarding the Jaeger: while a Habsburger torpedoboat-leader from the Great War really should not be a Tier 9 in the context of the game, the idea of a Great War torpedoboat-leader remaining very dangerous in WW2 is not so crazy, provided the ship had modern weapons and engines installed sometime near the end of the 1930s. She'd not make a great fleet destroyer serving on the high seas, but as a torpedoboat focused on aggressive hit-and-run strikes in more confined waters, she'd be more dangerous than not.
