Why The World Is Rushing Back To The Moon

World

During the Cold War, competition between the the United States and the former USSR was fierce, as the two countries rallied for the chance to make history by getting to the moon first. In 1959, the Soviet Union beat the U.S. to become the first nation to reach the surface of the moon with its Luna 2 spacecraft. But, the United States was the first country to put man on the moon in 1969, and to this day is still the only nation to have landed people on the moon. To date, only five nations, the U.S., Russia, China, Japan and India, have completed a successful soft landing on the moon. But bolstered by evidence of the presence of water and other natural resources, many more nations and private companies are now seeking to get to the moon. And whoever is able to establish a significant lunar presence first could have big implications on Earth as well as the cosmos.

  2. Looking forward to Visiting a Holiday Inn on our moon in a dome structure. We as tourists will enjoy dinner looking out at Earth. That is going to happen when major corporations work together world wide for development.. All paid for by Tourists and Governments supporting Corporate efforts.. Elon Musk is pushing the effort to do this in our lifetime..

  5. Watch For All Mankind – an alternate history show where the Soviets landed on the moon first and the Americans responded by funding many more moon missions. Eventually they build bases on the moon and technology gets so advanced that they make it to Mars by the 90s.

  6. Naturaly space law will be enforced on earth with similar benifits and conflicts. But, Hey! we're human right? We've done this for ages.

  8. the Cold War space race was a rush. A mad one, with a huge part of U.S. gdp invested in it.
the competition we have now? To call it a rush is a serious overstatement.

:- ) Russia on the Moon within 16 years :- ) No. Which is a good thing. They would steal half of the Moon and corruption would ruin the remaining half.

  11. outer space treaty can be thrown out as soon as operations have been set. This treaty is only a handy cap for western countries.
