16:58 Very valid point. No hostages have been rescued since the single hostage rescue near the start of the war and the senior Hamas leaders in Gaza haven't been caught or killed. This proves the months long military strategy has been a failure with the exception of when negotiations led to the swap of not far off half of the Israeli hostages for 300+ Palestinians. Netanyahu is failing as Israel's leader hopelessly and should step aside or get his f*cking act together as people's lives are at stake, IDF soldiers returning in body bags, approx 20 hostages already dead (let alone the 2+ million Gazans at extreme risk with more than 1% already dead). If Netanyahu genuinely tried to get Hamas to agree to a fair deal it would happen as Hamas would cave to the wedge of Gazans suffering and desperate need for relief from the current situation. Have seen reports of Rafah swelling to 1.9 million people and signalling from the IDF that Rafah will soon become a bigger target meaning the bombing that's already been happening there will increase. A ceasefire, be it a pause or permanent, needs to happen YESTERDAY and countries with the most influence (US, UK, Germany etc) need to exert all pressure possible to make it happen.
Also I feel like the nasty elements of the Israeli government like Ben-Gvir are not going to topple Netanyahu's Prime Ministership in the middle of a war. Netanyahu has been stubborn as hell for years fighting against corruption charges, that to do the diplomatic work necessary (domestically and international negotiations) to bring the hostages home is possible if he was genuine. Unfortunately I think he is too much in the mold of the modern self interested populist leader like Trump, Orban, Putin etc, who see everything in the lens of their own power and wealth and lack any compassion or sympathy for virtually anyone else. On this I hope I'm wrong but Netanyahu's own statements seem to say otherwise.

I think you are underestimating the Putin interview a little, it will be one of the center pieces of the Trump campaigne in that it will help normalize Putin to Trump voters and turn the alligations, that Trump works with Putin, into something that is actually a good thing. I think with monarchy, the most important thing is that they are entirely powerless.
