  2. I hear He was battling with anorexia as a youth. , and he has always been finding some aspects of his life difficult. However over all he is inspiring and love by many people he’s part of a long line of gardeners on the programme. All different but much appreciated

  3. There are many things that help, gardening, animals, generally being in nature. Sun light, exercise…CBT and listening to people like Eckhart Tolle, he's funny and he helps. No he's not coming up with light bulb moments but he has the gift of being able to articulate what has occurred. In my depression I got angry at how it was robbing me. My anger forced me to do something mentally, I simply was not going to tolerate it any more.and in taking this tack, there was a shift, in cognition… I cannot explain. My depression left me and has not returned . It's now been 30 years.
I do get melancholy, it's never deep and it passes quickly… best to you. My way may not be your way but I hope I've given you food for thought .

  4. I AlwAYS WATCH HIS GARENING PROGRAMMES., AND REMEMBER HIS BREAK FROM THE SCRENE BACK IN 08 , AND THOUGHT HE'D NEVER RETURN, But HE'S A SURVIVOR.
GIVEN THE STYLE OF HIS LIFE, OUT-DOORS, ACTIVE, AND NO DOUBT EATING A PROPER DIET OF HOME GROWN FOOD, IT'S SURPRISIG THAT HE, AND HIS PREDECESSOR GEOFF HAMILTON, DIED OF A HEART ATTACK, WHILE CYCLING FOR CHARITY, A BIG SHOCK BACK THEN.

  5. God bless dear Monty , I know the feeling of depression & sometimes I think I can’t cope & wondering why other people can but, they also admitted they went to a Coucil lie for Cognitive behavioural Therapy just like millions of us do xx Our lives are disrupted by too many things that are going on & we have to compete with Computerisations & now AI artificial intelligence , plus you can’t get through to councils or businesses without hearing mechanical voices telling you to press one! Or press two, or you could go n line at WWW. Etc& still not be able to speak to a human being !! No bl—-y wonder we all get frustrated & depressed xx God bless all those who are going through these hard 0:15 times xx love Helen xxxx P.S. I meant to say Councillor !!! Best wishes to all xx Helen xx

  16. There is far more to Montys life story than this.. He and Sarah started a very successful jewellery business which served celebrities and royalty for several years ,until the financial crash of 2008 forced them into bankruptcy and debt Sarahs family had to provide them with a home for a time He developed Long Meadow virtually from scratch. from these difficulties has sprung a beautiful garden A very hard worker and determined character with a great support in Sarah and his children SAD is a common condition in dark rainy cold countries like the UK I would recommend he move to Portugal and try , if not med gardening, Atlantic coast where its NEVER winter…

  22. Monty suffers like many others. The weather in Britain in winter brings terrible debilitating depression . If only people could move somewhere warm and sunny would make such a difference to their health.
