  1. Love the fact old world is finally here but bringing these models back in metal is such a disappointment.

  2. It’s nice to see the great bow Ushabti being done in metal. They were a weird release on launch, always out of stock, only in finecast and very hard to find. Weren’t available for long before they blow up the old world. I always wanted a big unit of them in 8th.

  3. The old Liche Priest was never released in metal, only Finecast. I’m really happy he’s being recast in metal! Makes you wonder if GW went through the effort of recasting the moulds as metal is done in a very different way to spin cast resin.

  4. People don't you understand how money works from Country to country? The pound sterling is worth more the the US dollar and way more then the Canadian dollar. That is why goods and services and different and then you got the taxes to import the items to different countries.

  5. Sucks that are just bringing back mostly old models…nothing special about the Khemri skeletons…would have been badass if we could've gotten Anubis warrior units like in The Mummy movie…disappointed, only a "few" new models, lazy on GW's part…Grail knights should have definitely gotten new models..

  6. I started playing GW games after getting a copy of Warhammer Fantasy Battles in hardback Christmas 1987 along with the old skeleton box that had a massive unit of foot skeletons, a unit of skeleton cavalry, and a chariot all in a single box. Miniatures being released in metal does not fill me with nostalgia. It fills me with disappointment. At these prices there’s no reason GW can’t make us a plastic kit for all of these metal minis and even more so for the new sculpts they’re releasing in resin.

  7. Full price for old sculpts that used to cost half that is absolute insanity :/ fuck I was hoping theyd use this as a budget way to get people into modeling then hope theyd switch up to pricier premium aos

  8. I'm so happy about the return, I was hoping for more time, so I'll buy up the books and look to expanding my armies late feb and march.. I'm super excited however and these prices are okay at least for us in the UK.

Those ushabti need pinning btw, anything that size needs pinning at least in the body and arms with metal.

  9. Whats really getting to me is the price difference between what the Independent shops are buying them at and what GW are selling them for. For example:

TK Core Set GW: 175 Indie : £99.75
Bret Core Set GW: 155 Indie: £88.35

Now I do recognise that the independents have to make a profit on the bottom price, but even so they still sell most GW box sets for 20% cheaper than GW does, thats a huge difference, surely for the core, GW could take the same hit to get more into the hobby. Its just feels really greedy on their part.

  10. Yeah that is just ridiculous. Absolutely ancient miniatures that cost little to nothing to make. Just priced me out of picking this up

  11. I'm kinda mad the prices in the UK are SO much cheaper than here in the US that I can get these products cheaper by buying them in the UK and paying full retail shipping costs to ship them across the whole Atlantic. The Bretonnia Box is $198ish in the UK and $255 is the states!! That's nuts!

  12. i cant see how GW can charge so much for this. why didnt they release the starter sets as 1 box like they use to be, 2 armies the rule book 2 measuring sticks (that no one really used lol) and handful of dice in 1 box. just cant justify me spending this much, i will get the rules, 2 books and the magic deck the rest will be 3d printed for the faction of the price GW charge

    Balas
  13. I really don't like the rulebook being £42, though I'm content with the pricing for Ravening Hordes and Forces of Fantasy.
£60 to get the rules and background for all armies isn't too bad. It's the same cost as if you were to buy all the Indexes from 40k 8th edition.
Personally I think those books should be £20 each, but hey ho.

  14. Wish we stopped calling it leaks. Prices are available for anyone to see on the games workshop retailer network page.

  15. Huh, looks like I can actually get it all for about 300 bucks!

3-D printer and some paints from the local craft store.
Seriously ppl, don't support Games Workshop. They are anti-consumer and it won't get better until they go bankrupt and have to sell the IP.

  16. I wonder how many cav you get per box, cause I like to run 9 units of all cav as Bretonnia for the Lance formation
