RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here’s to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.

  2. now we see this wonder differently and with tears in our eyes! We know that Cindy Lauper's jewelry made a noise, we know the story of this wonderful work and its result! The Greatest Night In Pop is… OMFG. 🥰

  3. A priceless moment in time,… never to be replicated. Always emotional. The Tail end of the golden age. Grand reaction Nick and Lex. Never gets old. We are the world.🌎✌️

  4. Are you considering also reacting to the Canadian African famine relief song, "Tears are not enough". Might be a couple of stars you didn't know were Canadian.

  5. Quincy Jones picked up Dionne Warwick via plane from Vegas show she was doing, the bulk of these artists were in LA because of the Grammys. With so many greats, so many legends of the era not part of this too.

    Balas
  6. WHEN EVERYONE ARRIVED AT THE STUDIO, THE CONDUCTOR, QUENCY JONES, HAD POSTED A SIGN OUTSIDE TELLING EVERYONE TO "CHECK YOUR EGOS AT THE DOOR". PRINCE COULD NEVER HAVE DONE THAT.

    Balas
  7. If you want to see Prince show off, check out this tribute to George Harrison with his son Danny, and a great cast of characters. Prince closes out. Check out his version of a mic drop.
Prince, Tom Petty & others – "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
    https://youtu.be/uWc4wMyL1oI
Here's a writeup about the event:
Watch the iconic performance that showed the world that Prince was the true king.
There's something celestial about the way Prince dominates the performance of The Beatles' While My Guitar Gently Weeps at the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Dinner. A cast of stars – Tom Petty, Steve Winwood and Jeff Lynne amongst them – have assembled onstage at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel to pay tribute to the song's writer, George Harrison. But everyone comes away talking about Prince.

  8. I feel like back then musicians played a pivotal role in bringing hope and happiness to everyone, more than the government and politicians

  9. It's so weird so many recognized Kenny Rogers but not Paul Simon, who was so known and successful by then. James Ingram had a great career, but that night he was there because he was singer of Quincy Jones albums. Why he got a solo. And the chorus , nobody sees Smokey Robinson, who was as known as Stevie Wonder. So much of the high singing in chorus were the Pointer Sisters. And Lindsey Buckingham, one of my favorites…was just one of 3 lead singers, Stevie Nicks sang more, and Christine McVie others.
I liked the backstory of song on YouTube with Jane Fonda. Search her name and song and see it. Haven't watched the documentary, but you saying what wasn't on makes other way better! Check it out

  10. It really WAS kind of magical that so many major stars came together and did this and it's heartfelt enough. I only wish the actual composition were more substantial. It's lightweight fluff, unfortunately.

    Balas
  11. I think the artists-for-Ethiopia thing began in the UK, with Bob Geldof organizing a bunch of musicians to do the tune 'Do They Know It's Christmas' under the moniker Band-Aid. He went on to organize the Live Aid concert, which seemed to spread the idea to other nations like the USA and Canada.

    Balas
  12. Lindsey's one of three Fleetwood Mac vocalists, but also prominently their great guitarist. Also if you like Bette Midler's movies, you should try one of her amazing songs like The Rose or Wind Beneath My Wings

    Balas
  13. This was CONSTANTLY played on the radio back in the day. It was a much different time. For one thing everybody actually sang…NO AUTO PITCH OR PITCH CORRECTION!!!

    Balas
  14. The talent in that studio coming together for such a good cause was simply amazing and you two are a breath of fresh air!

    Balas
  15. "Do They Know It's Christmas?" came first then this. Before that there was "Artists Against Apartheid" and their song "Sun City" – check it out.

    Balas
  16. The original UK Feed the World was as good or better Both nations are corrupt terrorist nations tho who don't feed the world but kill millions of innocent people for power and corruption

    Balas
  17. Great collaboration but you should check out the video "SUN CITY" by Artists United Against Apartheid. Man behind the project was Stevie Van Zandt of the E Street Band.

    Balas
  18. The thumbprint was Stevie Wonder’s. When I sold him audio equipment during the 1989s he always signed his Amex charges by thumbprint.

    Balas
  19. Yes it was really the late great heroic Harry Belafonte who brought this all about. Then just stepped to the back in the chorus.

    Balas
  20. If you haven't already, check out the inspiration for this, Do They Know It's Christmas. If you do, please, please check out the live version from Live Aid. It has bigger stars than the original but mostly, it has a soccer stadium full of fans losing their minds. It makes me puddly every time I see it. The passion, the optimism, the power.
