Thank you for this. This one has me a bit scared and I hope to not let others down in the alliance. I am a Bard sprout and not too fast as I am much older in age just starting off learning FFXIV. I did make it through the first two areas, thanks to your videos, but this one seems a little more intense. I will probably watch it a few more times before attempting it as it is mandatory for the main MSQ to continue on. Hopefully no updates have taken place since the video was originally created a few years ago.
I was so happy when I finally beat the second Kingdom Hearts-lookin bad guy with a mask, then that little message about needing to complete Crystal Tower quests popped up when I tried to talk to Minfillia. I was hoping the earlier warning was some sort of mistranslation. FFS those quests don’t even have the fire around them.
People tend to forget that right clicking stuff in game DOES give you options, focus target included… gamers and shortcut keys… a very complex relationship I guess lol.
As a noob this one seems crazy complicated compared to the first two even though you do them back to back
how anybody ever figured out this stuff I have no idea
I have Mirror movement disorder, have to use a controller and my hands just get totally confused in hectic combat but I'm in there fighting oh and dying lol
Your guides are great, thank you so much!
As a returning FF14 player I am watching your guide videos and am greatly appreciative. I also enjoy your commentary and you make it extra fun. Thank you for keeping these posted. You sir have a new Subscriber!
I have over 3000 hours played in this game and I have the dorky mentor status symbol, but I honestly never knew that focus target was a thing. I guess I removed that from my controls right off the bat because I didn’t understand what it was when I started playing. To make up for this, I figure it out another great little trick instead of using focus target. You open the HUD menu and click on the target info status bar, then go into settings on that element and you can break it into three smaller components. These would be the bosses health, a separated attack cast bar, And buffs and D bus I believe for the third. What I did is made everything the smallest they could go except for the cast bar, I expanding that And put it lower on the screen so even if I’m looking at my skills I can still see what the boss is casting at all times. Or whatever else I am tab targeted onto at the time
Thank you for this guide! I ended up getting lucky and never getting targeted myself on a lot of the things. It really helped on the eyeball boss because a lot of people got whacked but I was able to stay alive to revive and heal.
I just had the worst experience I have ever had in game in this raid. I was trying to main tank for the first time and it caused a meltdown. I honestly see this guide and I can’t think of what I did wrong, to make another tank and his whole alliance lose their minds. I still can’t explain it and don’t know what their whole issue was. Other than Couerl is just the worst Realm in the game, no questions asked
Extra tip for the first boss, the glowing pad rotates clockwise. It's not random. So sometimes you can stand on the one that will light up next instead of chasing it in a circle.
literally everything you told me to do I didn't lol I had actually no idea what I was doing T_T
i suggest moving set focus to CTRL+F and bind Target Focus Target to Shift+F
Thank you so much I’m actually new to ff14 and these three raids were my first ones and I was terrified but your videos reassured me and helped me breeze through them
Wait, you can go to its belly? I've done this raid so many times and always just ignored the circle o' vomit that I had no idea 😛
This was so helpful: all three crystal raid vids were! Thank you so much
I’m on ps4… wish me luck boys 🤧💔❤️🔥
This feels very intimidating tbh. But having the opportunity to see up to date video guides helps a lot, so thanks.
thank you so much for this series of guides!
this is my ticket out of ARR, i hope things get better after this..
fodder
Good guide. I've never heard Cer-ber-us pronounced "sara-bis", though.
Wow still helpful….your vids are perfect!
Yesterday, heatwave 😔
Thanks for this in 2022.
SO helpful, I really appreciate these updated guides!
Thanks a bunch for this, super helpful
I never get this to pop up in duty lol got the quest to revisit the place and was thinking it would eventually pop up I must have horrible luck so I decided just to queue specifically for this xD
Thank you!! I'm trying hard to fi ally get to Heavensward lol
Thank you so much for pausing bits of the screen and actually pointing out symbols that are so easy to miss when you're trying to keep track of everything else. Also the focus target tip, thank you!! Going in for the first time soon, wish me luck!!
I've just started playing after my son encouraged me to try the game. He wants me to go into all the dungeons and raids blind so that I can experience them in their full glory. Dungeons, sure, but for raids, even old content, not so much. Your guides have been an incredible help. Thanks.
Honestly, perfect guide. I've watched several other youtuber's guides but this one was the best. Your style (visual and explanation) made it easy to grasp AND remember. Keep it up!
I'm new to the game. Thank you for making these videos! ❤
I hate that I have to spoil the duty for myself by watching them.
But after an absolutely awful experience in Labyrith of the Ancients, it really feels mandatory to watch these beforehand… unless I want to be wasting everyone's time again by wiping the raid.
The game so far had not really demanded of me to do research before a duty. All the mechanics were self evident and easily understandable on the spot.
So I had no reason to even ask "What's the mechanics for this boss?".
Not like I had time to anyways, cause even when I tried to send a message on later bosses, everyone had already pulled before I could type it out.
I really don't get why raids like these are mandatory to progress through the MSQ.
It's such a painful experience and it made me cry last night.
Holy shit I’m actually studying this before I run it. It’s just so much to remember in one go. Edit: Just did it no wipes and I didn’t die once lets goooo
Love these new guides! I hope u make more for EW
Thanks for this series of guides in a modern view they have been very helpful 😀
thank you for your great guide! It helped me a lot 🙂
I would just like to thank you for making this updated guide! I was fortunate my party also knew what to do. You've been an amazing help and I hope you get more subscribers
I still have no clue what I'm doing in raids half the time because there's so much stuff on the screen lmaoo
Good that there is a guide but still after watching i'm totally clueless. Maybe there is other video explaining the mechanics…
Great tips !

I love it when alliance raid gives us the hardest boss at the beginning. I just love the salt and drama that follows after we wipe 3 times and there are still a bunch of bosses to deal with later meanwhile the group already hates each other. World of Darkness and Dun Scaith did this best.
Thank you for these vids! They helped me run my first raid flawlessly.
I would have been absolute useless garbage without these videos, thanks 🙂
today in 2021 I'm looking this guide and helps me ALOT! THANKS!
thank you for talking about focus target, its changed my life heh 🥰👍
