I believe that if another pandemic hits, we could be seeing something akin to zombies, but are actually people suffering from a disease. He predicted wars and damaging things like asteroids that would be occurring in the same time period. Basically, the mind seeks to make sense out of random bits of information and so links them together in an apocalyptic scenario.
