This is great to see, but lets be real: the issue with feeding people isn't growing food, it's the distribution of food. At least where I live (Canada) about 60% of food produced/prepared is wasted: it never touches anyone's mouth, goes straight into the garbage/compost. And of that ~60% of wasted food, only 4% is recouped/redistributed. And yet there are still people going hungry? Here and elsewhere? I see a bigger problem

I hope this type of agriculture work can help grow perennials in all those great green walls sprouting up around globally….Gardens for animals or maybe just used to help plants out growing up in the desert
What's happened can be good or bad and sometimes both for small villagers who have something that no one else has. I'm glad these Mexican farmers have more economic opportunities, however we know what can happen when science tries to genetically modify these ancient or natural seeds/plants. It didn't turn out good for people in Hawaii with Papaya's, India and America with GMO soy beans and Monsanto's roundup that can't kill plants unless you spray the green part of the plants, however is proven to cause cancer now. I went to Monsanto classes for work, and once upon a time they told us we could even drink round-up and there wouldn't be any type of negative reaction, they said round-up was that safe! They were WRONG.
I am all for the growth of this banana plant spreading across the world, however not as a GMO if that's in their plans and if they decide to create a GMO version, they shouldn't plant them any where close to non-gmo's. The ancient corn they have could become tainted with GMO and their crops may be completely changed forever by it if they're not careful.. stay safe everyone. wishing everyone the best.
