The humiliation of women in France after World War.

World

This rare footage captures what may be one of the strangest carnivals in history.
In the aftermath of France’s liberation in the 1940s, women were publicly shamed by being shaved bald and paraded through the streets.
The spectacle, accompanied by cheering crowds and music, was intended to ridicule these women for collaborating with the opposing side during the occupation.
However, beneath the surface of this disturbing event lies a stark reality: while these women were singled out for their actions, many men would likely have been guilty of similar collaboration.
The carnival serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities and injustices of war, as well as the double standards that persist in society.

  5. The French men who were collaborators, were huddled together by the French resistance and they lined them up against the wall and shot them.
So in comparison, cutting the female collaborators hair short, was actually still a mild form of punishment. Get your facts right!
