There's far more relevant history to know than just WW2 kids. Trying to cram that into a single soul will easily overload / overwhelm even the most avid of historians. And what does knowing history effectively teach us except that it's ineffective in effectively preventing violent conflicts. Our disposition is far worse than most are willing to admit: roughly 20 years later, with the Great War still fresh in everyone's minds – we're dragged back into the most deadly conflict to date. The H. G. Wellses of the word are sadly still amongst us today. You can educate the shit out of the entire world, resulting in humanity being more effecient at killing. What's worse than having no hope? Having false hope that everything will get better. Better with education, better with politics. I think Einstein is quoted saying: insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. Politics is rooted in power, and not a solution to the world's problems. Education? Germany was the most euridute country the world has ever known, yet it was a nation of gas ovens and concentration camps. Educate a thief that steals a watermelon, he'll rob an entire train of watermelons. The war to end all wars has not yet occured. That war will be the war that brings about the extinction of the human race (interstingly, this has been mentioned before, Matthew 24:22).
I've seen this documentary before somewhere without all the censorship etc, but for some reason this uploader decided to rename each episode with something far less relevant than what the video actually shows. Kinda annoying when you start watching something and realize you've already seen it π
