I had mistakenly believed that Sweden was a serious hockey nation. After watching their team and their fans celebrate after this debacle I was embarrassed for them. My son and I were supposed to go there when the tournament was scheduled a couple of years ago. We weren't able to make due to the delay but now I'm glad we didn't go because that was a shameful display of poor sportsmanship on behalf of the fans especially. I honestly thought the Swedish people were better than that. No wonder they choke every year with that lack of honour and respect for the game and their opponents.

The refs were abominably incompetent, or biased. The penalty late in the 3rd was a non penalty. Total BS to call it even a 2 minute slashing. The one in OT was also the kind that is NEVER called.
But we understand, it is good for hockey to have the home Swedes finally winning one.
Problem is, these games are officiated like women's hockey, or ringette.
ok im going to sound salty because my canucks got eliminated this morning but that is an absolute blown call by the refs. Not saying the swiss call was bogus it was a hook however the swede player did hook the swiss player on the partial breakaway which should've been called a penalty shot since it affected the shot.

2:07 quick question. (hockey fan btw) in hockey its NOT like basketball where as long as the ball or in this case the puck is out of the shooter's hand/stick and the buzzer goes off it counts correct? IE if the Swiss goalie let the puck go in because he thought the period was over it doesnt count because the puck was in the air not the net.

what a ridicilous penalty in OT? obviously everything was normal, but ref was hungry and decided to finish the match earlier to catch up for the dinner, i dunno.Sweden didn't deserve THAT victory, not in this way. I am a competitor. If I win, I want my wins to be merited. That was NOT a merited win for Sweden! That was refs doing everything they could to hand them the win. Must be a disgusting feeling for those Swede players.

Shower thoughts. Does Sweden react to getting knocked out like Canada does? Canada won back to back gold and media/fans are freaking out about losing this year. Sweden has won 2 golds in the history of the tournament. Everyone says Canada needs to change their development style and programs ect. Shouldn't Sweden be the ones asking these questions about themselves? It's not easy to win gold in this but Canada does it alot.

Good game Switzerland. It's difficult to beat Sweden AND the REFS at the same time.
Not a deserved win for us, we played awful and careless for a great part of the game. And got gifted the win in OT.. Switzerland should've had this one. Well fought, yet an unfortunate ending for the Swiss.

Soft hooking call in OT but Switzerland got off free with two huge blown interference calls and a no icing call with like 5 minutes left. Refs couldn't handle the pressure and gave us a freebie at the end which is a shame

I’m not Switzerland got hosed but it sure did feel like they did. That “slashing” call was soooooo fn bad. The Canada vs Czechia and Finland Slovakia games being great and recent examples of how anything can happen in the final 2 mins and swing Switzerland not getting the best opportunity at the end didnt feel right. Especially after them losing in OT. Terribly officiated game as well. But happy for Sweden and hold ur heads high Switzerland very underated tourney performance from you guys
It's not a victory, it's a shame. Respect to Switzerland.
