It's hilarious people expect this guy to know what to do in his FIRST Monster Hunter game ever. Most people take 3-4 Monster Hunter games before they become just okay at the game. Give the guy some room to breathe, jeez lol. Been playing since Monster Hunter on the PS2, believe me, I've seen worse players before.

The DLC for this game called IceBorne was scheduled to come out in the middle of the pandemic. A buddy of mine walked me through the base game a month before the DLC came out (work from home mandate and we were both unemployed due to the pandemic as well) and it was super fun. Iceborne came around and we had two more people with us to play through the content with a full squad. Ended up with around 450 hours in the game and around 400 was probably with three other people. Some of the most fun I've ever had in a game ever, so cool that you're playing through it. Hopefully you have a squad with you and have just as much fun this game can be so great with other people.
I hope he tries out the switch axe i have a feeling he would have a lot of fun with it 😂
This game is a masterpiece. I dear you to finish it. You will love it. The combat feels clunky by design. When you get good, you have full control.
Also the greatsword is the one that feels the most clunky.
It takes alittle while to get into this game, but it's well worth it
With the games he played before it paid off with fight with Rathian. Still, it is impressive.

Color me surprised. I never thought he’d actually play the game. Super happy he gave it a shot. Has to be my favorite game of all time.
This game came out when I was in highschool and I made sure on my off period I came back home, played and it was bliss. I was excited for the loading screen lol. Monster Hunter 3 Tri was the first one I ever played and it's by far my favorite series.

I'm slightly sad that he's locking himself into one weapon type in a game that lets you change your gameplay style so frequently so easily.

It's always good to experiment. Don't hesitate to craft from other crafting trees, armor or weapon types. This lets you know more about the mechanics while giving you the opportunity to adapt your playstyle. I always craft newly unlocked shit once I get the materials for it regardless of crafting tree, so I could try them out whenever I want.
It's more like a "you won't know it until you try" situation, even if you found yourself a comfy playstyle.
But it's absolutely amazing that you're able to make these monster limp from the first encounter. And the first-try rathian kill was chef's kiss. Players usually don't go for that kill early-game.
Has anyone told him that he can equip armor and weapons to his cat?

I had such a huge time with this game, I had waited so long for a Monster Hunter game to land on a Playstation system. I've not owned a lot of Nintendo systems, I played one on the 3DS, put a lot of time in Freedom Unite; and of course the original Monster Hunter. With the new game coming out the urge to jump into Monster Hunter is rising again, but since I own a Switch now, I've ordered Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. So hopefully I'll get some mileage out of it until New World comes out. I enjoyed some of the bug monsters from the title I played on 3DS (I don't even remember which one it was), so hoping to get some sweet spider armor and enjoy that while it lasts. And hoping we get more insect wyverns in this new game.
this absolute mad lad took one look at Rathian with nothing but a g.jag gs and some bone armor and just went for it….and actually brought her down before stomping barroth into the mud as a brand new player to MH. that is both amazing and hilarious. Holy shit, great job!
