  1. I think there are probably mental handicaps of people that have PTSD. The regret, sorrow, shame, or guilt would be a reflection of why it had to come to it. Others that don't have that handicap aren't heartless, but a gut felt understanding of what needs to be done. That's a different breed of Americans

  2. Having met many Canadian Vets of WW2 and Korea some vets do have PTSD and some REALLY enjoyed the War time experiences they had, including the nastier bits. I remember meeting one vet who really enjoyed recounting his time as a forward observer for the Artillery in the Italian Campaign. Didn't have any issue about vividly describing the effects of the shots he called. Other vets don't talk about it all, their usually infantry or armored.

  3. Sir Adrian Paul Ghislain Carton de Wiart

He served in the Boer War, First World War, and Second World War. He was shot in the face, head, stomach, ankle, leg, hip, and ear; was blinded in his left eye; survived two plane crashes; tunnelled out of a prisoner-of-war camp; and tore off his own fingers when a doctor declined to amputate them. Describing his experiences in the First World War, he wrote, "Frankly, I had enjoyed the war."

  4. The people commenting couldn’t fathom looking yourself in the eye after 1 , this man fought a war to save all of us. Just be grateful for him and our unknown soldiers following orders

  5. My favorite was Ernest Borgnine, who played Mermaid Man on Spongebob. He remembered WWII so fondly that when asked about it he said "Oh, it was a good war 🙂‍↕️" like it was summer camp or something. Absolute legend.

  6. I hate the way this generation tries to shame men for being men. He is a hero and did great things for this country.❤ God bless that big strong man for whatever it is he HAD to do.
