I agree with Cotton's CB statement. I was playing CB for about 150hrs straight then switched to a support SnS build for the Safi siege and started defaulting to CB combos

i'm still pretty sure those bears aren't large monsters but this quest make me want more quests of just 2 of a monster with this kind of AI so they are equally as likely to fuck each other up as fucking you up. also cases like the raths or the legianas where they work together. i still remember that shrieking legiana quest fondly because poor barrioth got if 5 total turf wars with them.

I play both SnS and CB, and I can say that, once you know what you're doing, CB requires very little thought.
Yes. The entire CB collective is proud. We love to see someone finally pick it up. Now… we just require charged swords… it is a charge blade after all.

To this day I'm still surprised that Cotton seems more like a Pro than Josh. Cotton seems to do more than Josh in both weapons and utility XD
charge blade really doesn't require alot of tought tho 🙁 just have to get the combo's down i have about as much tought with cb as with playing lance nowadays it comes automaticly while playing don't have to think about it .. i guess its a bit of a commitment getting used to the weapon but once you are used to it its pretty amazing and no other weapon compare's anymore thats how it is for me atleast. altho sunbreak and the wirebug moves really made me apreciate some other weapons aswell because of the less braindead playstyle with the different options available and cb's wirebugs splitting savage axe and sead playstyle was a bit of a bummer to me mainly that the axe stops going while in iceborn it woulf just slowly drain your phials even when sheated i prefered that mechanic

For Josh, the CB play wasn't bad. But the complete lack of any guard-points, proper sword charging of phials, or proper morphing was so painful. Bazelgeuse was excellent as always, for he is in fact a perfect Monster whereas Seething Bazelgeuse is BEYOND PERFECT.
Rude rejecting a Charge Blade that’s mean I would be more upset if you Rejected a Insect Glaive
I remember when I was hunting an arch tempered dragon when 2 b52’s decided to do a bombing run.
Charge Blade is pretty brainless once you get the mechanics down. It's the initial hump of getting phial management down to habit so you don't think about it. After that, it's pretty brainless like SnS.
Monster attacking? Guard Point.
Monster going to be in in a favorable position after the GP? GP -> SAED.
Got full phials and charged shield while monster is KO'd or exhausted? SAED spam.
It's very much like IG Kinsect buff management, plus GunLance phials, with Switch Axe Sword charge all mixed into one mechanic so that initial hump of phial management is what trips up new players. High skill floor, but not as high of a skill ceiling compared to other weapons. Certainly a very strong and adaptable weapon, where it can be complex with lots of (simple) mechanics, but not a terribly difficult weapon to master.

I never bothered to learn CB precisely for the reasons you guys list at the end of the video: it's just so overly complicated. It's more work than I'm willing to put in to my hunts.

I really enjoy Josh having to learn CB cause I just went through the same thing with Return to World. Decided I was finally going to learn the damn weapon and proceeded to solo every fight that I could with it. Only ones I'm missing are the siege monsters and the two black dragons.
