  1. I love how they even had some of the cast like Q promoting the video games, that was the coolest thing ever! Good old 90s 🙂 they definitely don't have fun stuff like that anymore

  2. The World Is Not Enough definitely highlights Michael Apted's reputation for having more of a propensity for dramatic cinema as opposed to being an action director.

It naturally highlights the movie's strongpoints in terms of plotting and character, while the actions sequences were merely passable without being spectacular.

  3. For some reason I never bought into Pierce Brosnan as Bond . he was charming , but not that effortlessly charming like Roger Moore , he was physical enough , but not as physical as Sean Connery , and its funny the first time I ever saw Brosnan I thought that guy could play James Bond .

  4. I remember that commercial! My friend and I argued about which Bond girl was hotter: Elektra or Christmas Jones. We were in the eighth grade back then.

  5. Do we all agree that Dr Holly Goodhead is the most believable Bond girl with respect to her being both a CIA cover agent and a rocket scientist? I buy it, certainly more than Denise. If Denise is an example of it done badly (not the worst thought) Holly has to be the upper end of the spectrum. Plus she pulls off the combat nicely as well when she has too. They had to balance it out by giving her one of the most ludicrous names in the series though lol!

  6. 26:43 Sophie Marceau is a gem in this movie. She and Brosnan really shines and really takes makes it a better movie than Tomorrow Never Dies.

  7. So frustrating. So many great ideas: A villain slowly dying who feels no pain. A damsel who is really a villain. M captured. But it’s a mess of a film. I feel like I’ll never understand it until I read the novelization.

  8. You are right about Cigar Girl. No less a character than Tony Soprano fell for her, and she was a figment of his imagination!

  9. Brosnan deserved better material than he got over the entirety of his Bond career. This movie is dull, dull, dull. Apted was the wrong type of director for this kind of film. There's not enough action, and aside from the pre-title sequence, the action scenes are flat for me. Richards was a terrible casting choice. Surely there was a better actress who would be plausible in the role and still attractive enough for Bond to bang.

  10. Personally, this is my least-favorite of all of Brosnan's Bond movies. That doesn't mean it can't be considered underrated, but there are simply too many things in this movie that don't work… A woman being the main villain is an absolutely amazing idea though, one that I, like Jeroen, wish they would go back and revisit again for a future film.

  11. Piece was good for the part Goldeneye was a great movie. To no fault of his own the writers where subpar

  12. I highly recommend this film's "expanded" soundtrack. Arguably the series best non-John Barry score: Great use of the classic Bond Theme, plus all the somber/ominous tracks fit perfectly.

  13. A lot of people have survived from head shots especially from small calibre weapons and hand guns whilst continuing with life as usual. Depends totally on shot and wear in brain it hits if indeed it hits the brain after all the brain feels no pain.

  14. Great observation about Cucinotta. As usual you’re right about more or less everything but I want to submit a plea here for Denise Richards on the grounds that when you reach her degree of physical glory mere acting ability seems like a footling accessory. Sophie Marceau also belongs to the category of the transcendently beautiful so with those two plus Cucinotta it wouldn’t really matter much if the rest of the movie was a tad mediocre.

  15. There was a British solider in WWI who was hit in head by a bullet at the Battle of Mons in 1914 and survived. Sidney Godley.
