  1. Prime example of making a product for a larger audience. For a non speedrunner this seems like a blast of wild challenges, for an elite runner the lack of useful pro stats makes it boring.

  2. Unfortunately they can't have wrong warp because if a typical player scrolls the block off screen, they'd be stuck. So the rewind for missing the warp has to happen when the block scrolls out. Wall clipping could have been left in though.

  3. I wonder if there’s a way to soft lock your run while attempting to perform a glitch, like that vine one. Example: “Strategy Unavailable” mixed with “Too Far” or “Vine Blocked.” Such a shame the is so darn hand-holdy…in a SPEEDRUN GAME 😒

  4. Who is the target audience for this ? If miiverse existed still I could see the pins being a flex but without that you can just speed run the Nintendo online version. Maybe there are more unique challenges later but even if I was like 5 and this was the wii I would find everything below 3 star insulting.

  5. The only part I really liked was the head-to-head portion. I nearly choked on my drink when you just kept getting shafted in SMB2US Luigi level.

For better or worse, I always think about you when I think of that game. I beat it first when I was like ~5 years old and it was the first game I really struggled with (as in, needed help on some stages from my cousin the first few times I reached them). Your crusade that it's harder than 2J sits well with me.

  6. i guess for once we can thank nintendo for never doing any extra work or otherwise they owuld have remade and updated these nes games to just not work like the real deal in more ways than just glitches
