It's not Russia, but the US led NATO that would certainly attack not only Iran and Yemen but also Russia in the next 2 – 4 years. NATO is well planned to defeat Russia and China, along with Iran before India surrendered itself to NATO. A new era of colonization would begin then the same way as before the beginning of WWII.

On its current long term trajectory, Russia will no doubt eventually collapse demographically, politically and more importantly, economically.
What concerns me is that this projection might be cut short by total war.
Russia has now shifted to a complete war economy, so for 5-10 years they will see increased economic growth and production before it all burns out like the collapse of the soviet union.
This means that for up to a decade we need to deal with The Russian Federation investing everything in war materiel, and the only way they can recoup on that investment is by:
1. Using military force to diminish its enemies
2. Taking other peoples resources to replenish its economy.
Putin is basically putting Russia in a position where the only way forward is to steal other peoples stuff, or break it, whilst holding nukes in his back pocket as his last swan song.
I find it terrifying that people are trying to rationalise the Ukraine war as some kind of "nuanced geopolitical issue" when really it is just about Russia being a thug state.
