  1. Its really cool to see Void politics.
Xal being a creepy undead eldritch uncanny valley creature is really cool. It really feels like a puppet controlled by a thing not really fittung inside the body.

  2. Nyalotha part cant refer to BfA: it is said about 'last stand of black empire' which is a phrase that means last battle with implication of dire circumstances (aka high threat of losing) and we know the empire fell to the titans and they imprisoned the old gods. Nyalotha in BfA wasnt even a real place and he was freshly released and invading the world, how is that a losing postion. The BfA part also wasnt happening over long time neither. 'LAST stand' also implies it isnt the first battle which it was in BfA (we went in a raid in Nzoths fantasy realm and defeated him gg ez). Also the princesses age can be a clue – she is a tiny kiddo in the scene with the faceless one while in meeting with Xalatath she seems adult (younger than her mother but mother seems unchanged throughout which on its own is supposed to imply she is quite old if not ancient) and we know that current events happen about 7-8 years after BfA buy this argument isnt as plain and obvious since we know nothing about biology of nerubian life ;D

  3. I definitely agree that we should loose for once. I mean imagine the amount of people coming back to this game if ever left to avenge the Azeroth? Such a potential landslide and comeback for game. It would be kind of dumb not to take this opportunity.

  4. Since War Within will lead into Midnight and it was hinted that in Midnight we will fail miserably, my guess is that:
    1. In War Within, Xal'atath will manage to open a portal to the void lords, or something similar; In any case it will create a way for the void to reach Azeroth.
    2. In Midnight, the void invasion will be in full effect
    3. In The Last Titan, we will get help from Azeroth and repel the invasion

  5. I didn't see this in the comments, but the scene on the wall looks like N'Zoth is exposing the Faceless Ones and Nerubians to a source of power that they absorb as they worship him. That same "source", or one like it, is hanging from the ceiling at the beginning of the animation, but it doesn't seem to be glowing like the one in the mural is.

This leaves me with a huge question: How does aging impact the Nerubians? Because this would give a definitive point in time that the animatic could have started at — we know that the end has to be recent, but Ansurek could have been a little girl 10 000 years ago for all we know.

  6. They continue to use those those jewel tones. The buildings have that citrine orange present in the Maw and the Black dragon flight. The mother has green that was present in Maldraxxus, Zereth Mortis, and the Green dragon flight. Anub'Sakhet has blue which is present in Ardenweald and the Blue dragon flight. I think they are meant to be visual cues.

The jewels were present in both SL and DF loading screens. There has to be a meaning. The orange seems to be a visual cue that its relating to something far below. Blue I think its like… the willingness to bend magic for the greater good. I think green is about someone with a behind the scenes approach to power. There is also an amethyst that's shown on both soldiers and Xal herself. Probably to show that the forces are under Xal's influence.

  7. 100% this is BFA that they wanted more bug bosses. Wouldn’t make sense as having been any other time given Nerubians only existing after the fall of the BE and spread of the Aqir.

  8. Three things: love fleshing out races that have existed in WoW for a while, I sense very slight Arthas parallels, and lastly; is it just me or does the whole “Destiny/destined” trope get used too much? It’s either some super specific thing or some general motivator such as being destined for greatness. In this case it seems the Destiny is power for themselves and people. The daughter, being young and witnessing what her mother did in the past, seems to resent stagnation and helplessness. Love the cinematic tho.

  9. they did something most prob did think possable, make her disturbing & damn is that part of her coming out the wall, just focus on her face, dg they did a hell of a job.

  10. I'm hoping for parallels with suramar and the faldorei and elves. They also became wretches, but only when they lost access to their font of power… also this spider-like fal'dorei faction… the arcandor mixing nature and arcane magic. There are already some parallels of course between the blood elves and the night born… but it seems the nerubians also had some font of power… maybe that crystal, where xalatath popped out. Im very excited to see what this expansions story is going to be like.

  11. Bold prediction:
Kingdom of Azj'kahet loses, but Xal still wins (and probably leaves them for ruin after she gets whatever she's wanting out of them)
