  1. 400M hurdles winner at the 2024 Summer Olympics? Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.
Winning time? Equaling or bettering her WR will be difficult under the pressure of the Olympics, I'd say she goes 50.75.

  2. It's very strange that Femke Bol gets any hate because 1) she is one of the sweetest people on Earth who never says a bad word about anyone 2) it's much more common for the top ranked person to get hate, precisely because he/she is at the top. For Sydney fans to hate on Femke (who they already consider to be in second place) only speaks to the insecurity and pettiness of those fans. Why shit on someone you already think is inferior? It's bizarre.

  3. Alright so this makes it interesting. Sydney is still the favorite but if bol can go sub 51 that means Sydney has to be on her a game. I think she will be because she always is but at least now there's potential. Bol I think it's necessary to push Sydney to sub 50. Without competition and someone on your ass is hard to run to your full potential so bol could also set another PB with Sydney in the race

  4. Bol should definitely be considered a threat. Especially when you throw in the unpredictability of any hurdles race. To call it a rivalry is a bit of a stretch though. Their match ups have been one sided and very lopsided at that. Bol’s performances have been impressive and should be celebrated, but if she wants to be mentioned in the same name with SML she needs to do it when it counts. That said…It should be a fun race to watch if everything pans out the way it should 💁🏾‍♂️

  5. My observation is Femke Bol improved far more drastically than McLaughlin Levrone.
That will be a fantastic event at the Olympics to watch.
Then there’s the men’s event that will also be interesting given an another 400 meter hurdle runner is in the running with Warhol and Benjamin.

  6. She is outstanding, but I am not shocked. I would have been shocked had she broken Sydney's WR set a couple of weeks ago. They will be a duo to really watch in Paris!

  7. Don’t forget, the track at La Chaux-de-Fonds is at altitude (about 1000 m asl = 3280 ft asl). This is certainly not very high, but probabaly not insignificant. Nonetheless, an extraordinary performance and it certainly shows that Femke is fit and ready to at least challenge Sydney.

  8. Femke is great, but Syd is the class of the event. Why are we talking about how young Femke is and Syd is the same age? Hoping for them to both be healthy for the final and Syd to break the WR again, then hand off the event to her. I would love to see Syd focus on the 2/4 double next year.

  9. The hurdles don't present enough of a barrier for tall women, which is why the time differences between the 400 flat and hurdles is becoming increasingly less significant. The men's hurdles are 20% higher, but the difference in height between male and female athletes is considerably less.
