  2. So this is all about "dangerous trees*" but then you talk about the Jaboticaba tree being *good to eat and pair/contrast it with two plants, pokeweed and deadly nightshade, that are not at all trees or even woody shrubs. And you go on to say that pokeweed is "a common sight in South America." That's odd, as it's native to the eastern part of North America.

  3. Taxus baccata, known as the common yew, can be found in all countries of europe and in many backyards as an ornamental shrub, particularly used for growing a hedge.
The plant grows red, fleshy berries that taste sweet but are very poisonous upon swallowing whole. Only the red flesh, according to studies, seems edible while the seed within the fruit is poisonous. One seed can already be enough to kill.
The plant contains many alkaloid substances under which are taxine alkaloids, which can cause cardiogenic shock, which can carry on even when resuscitated. The leaves and the wood, actually everything else from the plant, is also toxic. The plant is called 'Venijnboom' in the Netherlands, which roughly translates as Vicious tree or Venom tree. it's advised not to eat the fruit at all.
That's another sneaky killer to add to the list.

It's best to have a wide understanding of plant morfology before looking into edibles in nature. Do your homework thorough and don't rely on quick internet searches.

  4. A friend of ours confused the China Scholar Tree – which is an edible flowers – with Laburnum. Eating Laburnum flowers is deadly. Dogs can even die from chewing on a Laburnum branch thrown for them to fetch. She only ate a little tiny bit of Laburnum flowers and ended up in hospital, nearly dying.
