I think world and this had/will have such a wider reach because we're finally at a point in game dev where those fighting systems and styles feel smooth and purposeful instead of feeling more clunky like they did in the older games. even though at heart they are the same, with better animation, framerate, processing, rigs, etc etc is just feels better now. I'll never understand how people are still replaying the older mh games with world and rise being out. Like yea, I loved those games at the time, but come on, the newest ones feel soooooooo good comparatively.
DD 2 is coming out at the best time for an RPG in this era of gaming. Its looking phenomenal, and I for one am glad they didnt make the same mistake of poor timing as the original. It also helps its a sequel, and not the utter failure of the first games release, in what is probably the worst era of gaming to drop a new IP, back in 2011 and 2012. That time is easliy one of, if not the best era of gaming we've ever had. It really paints a horrible picture of just how far gaming has fallen since. If anyone is curious, literally google search popular games of 2011 and 2012, and youll see Dragons Dogma had no business being out, even being a solid game

In Dragon's Dogma 1 i got so sidetracked doing side quests i ended up actually quitting because i was so lost in the world that i didnt know where to go to continue the story. Was really fun until that point, kept getting lost trying to get back on track and ending up back at the city i was living in.

dragons dogma does look cool but i prefer playing games with friends and since its single player only i may just skip it. i just feel lonely playgoing games alone
I played dragons dogma but it was just too hard to get into and I got pretty bored. So I’m glad the second game is coming out.

I've managed to stay almost entirely unspoiled for DD2, so that I can dive in and have the genuine experience. The only spoilers I've seen are the clips in this video; I didn't even know the Magic Spear class EXISTED. I am ABSOLUTELY going to be playing this On Release, without question. I just hope it doesn't have the problem Helldivers 2 had with servers.

I played the first one when it came out and it just didnt grab me. After this game was announced and was gaining more steam, I decided to go back to it. the original is fun but this one looks much better
