Man, disney trips have always been expensive, but arguably worth it in the past when they had free fast passes, airport transportation if you were staying on site, and overall focused on truly making it a a magical experience. I feel like in the last 5-10 years that has all gone away.
Yeah… one more trip and then I’ll be done with Disney for quite some time. It’s a fun place but the planning is a headache. And you can’t rely on old itineraries bc Disney is always changing.
Confused….Virtual Que going away too???
My first time to Disney will be in November. I need someone to plan my whole stay because between lighting lane, lightning lane multi pass, different parks and dinner reservations. I DO NOT KNOW HOW YOU GUYS DO IT 😂.❤😵💫.
I feel like I preferred the genie plus. I just came back from Disney a few weeks ago and we were able to hit all of the top tier rides in one day. Making that 9 to 10 rides out of the whole day, not including brakes and shows. I really hate having to relearn all of this all over again
So when you use one of your lightning lines, you can automatically get another lightning lane? Or do you have to use up all three lightning lanes before you can get a new one?
If you want to meet Mickey, you must first meet atleaste 2 other characters and have it validated onto your my disney experience. Once you complete that, you may sign up for a virtual que to meet Mickey. Lol
Im just getting so mad at all these non stop changes it’s such a waste of my time to “ study” a strategy
I haven't been to Disney in over 20 years, and have no desire to. It seems very convoluted now and a low value proposition.
God I can't imagine trying to plan a trip to Disney anymore, I try to keep updated on rules and such bc my parents love Disney but jfc this is all so convoluted. Feels like you need a law degree just to go over the rules of lightning lanes.
I used to love disney, it was fun and magical. Now I dread going…
The International rule makes me switch my next travel to a Universal Orlando Vacation.
runs to watch rhe DFB videos about Express Pass and Epic Universe 😂
"Except now we have to pay for it."
What Tier will Test Track Fall into? I dont see it on the PDF Guide.
So a big question I have it how it will work with after hour events. We haven’t done an after hour event with genie plus either so I’m not sure if they work during them or not as it is. We are set to do MNSSHP on the same day that we visit MK. If we get LL multi-pass for the day, do we also get access to use it during the party? I want to know which is my best option to try to book first. Jungle cruise or Tiana’s? Thanks for all you do to keep us updated!
Curious to see how this goes. On the one hand, I’m glad that if I get back from the parks early I won’t have to stay up until midnight to purchase Genie+. On the other hand, this makes me anxious that other people will book all the popular rides before I get the chance to book at all. Rip to all the non-Disney-hotel guests having to wait until three days before. Sucks. But my next trip won’t happen until next March at the earliest, so at least I won’t be a guinea pig.
Also, that’s a serious shame about international park guests. Hopefully they can and will change that, that’s not very fair.
Some members of my family have date-based tickets and others do not. We are staying off-property. Does that mean some can book the whole trip and others have to go day by day? So confusing.
We just got back from Disney. Your Genie + information was very helpful. We used Genie for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
Total rip-off!! Another Disney scheme to squeeze the guests for what used to be totally free. I don't even go to the parks anymore – overpriced. Disney Springs is a better place & not a pre-arranged fiscal disaster.
Have you heard if they will still be doing the virtual queue for Guardians and Tron?
So were staying at the Boardwalk and going on the 27,28 and 29. It sounds like we don’t have the 7 day advance window to book lightning lanes. Can someone confirm that? Sounds like we will be able to book the morning of the 24th though??
Guess I’m still confused, my trip is August 25 -31st with our first park day being August 26th Hollywood studios. We arrive to our hotel Sunday the 25th so we would book the Sunday prior as it’s our first day on property not first park day right? Would I be booking for just Hollywood studios or am I going to have to make sure I have every park day scheduled and get every fast pass I want for every day 7 days prior?
Attention all International guests !!! visit Universal studios for your first week, it means you will be in the US ready to book your new Genie.
Will we be able to do this on computer.. or just app??? I'm not real tech savvy 😆
This may have been answered and I just missed it. Can you purchase Lightining Lane multi pass sooner than the 7 day mark? Like you can purchase the Lightining Lane Multi Pass option but then not select the rides until 7 days out. Or do you have to wait until 7 days to even purchase the pass? I hope that makes sense… 😅
We will be a group of 6, including a 1 yr old. That means we’ll need to use ride swap on some attractions. Will they allow 2 of us to do the ride swap if we have LL so one member of our party doesn’t have to ride alone?
Well a group of 6, including a 1 yr old. That means we’ll need to use ride swap on some attractions. Will they allow 2 of us to do the ride swap if we have LL so one member of our party doesn’t have to ride alone?
Internation guest here – I'm devastated about this news! We've saved for 6 years for this once in a lifetime trip, and the possibility of missing out on big attractions because of this new system is terrible. It also seems like poor planning on Disney's part, and international visitors tend to stay longer and therefore spend more on Disney property, so disadvantaging us seems ill advised.
Just an idea, has anyone tried using a VPN with the Disney website? Perhaps there's a way around the system…
I have a Single Day Park Hopper Ticket that DOES require a reservation… so if I'm choosing Hollywood Studios as my first park, will I be able to PRE-BUY LL Single Passes for Guardians and Tron (even though they are in different parks)?
So, is the pricing going back to just being date based and not based on what park you're going to and if you're park hopping or not? Also, with the Single Passes, is it still going to be up to two per day or only one now?
I thought the Universal "Unlimited Rides" was overpriced, but I didn't have to micromanage my 2 days in the park waaaay ahead of time. See a ride you like? Ride it pretty much straight away. I'd just hate to see what Disney thinks they could charge if they ever implemented it.
so, I am Canadian. Is there a disney official place saying that Canadian's can use this? As I asked the app and they stated that is not correct.
Ok, I’m not clear on the 7 day thing. Is it 7 day from your hotel reservation, or 7 days from your first park day? That would put people who don’t want to go to the parks right away at a clear disadvantage.
Disney Genie+ was better. We could get up early and start stacking our rides and enjoy the pool that morning and go to the park that evening and ride everything we wanted within 2-3hrs and navigate each section without bouncing from one side to the other walking extra useless steps in the process. Which meant we never waited more than 10-15 minutes for any ride. This way means you will be subject to what's left which means you may not get any of the rides you want. All of you who complained about Genie+ and can't get any of the rides you want on your trip remember you asked for this.
I’m getting there the first day the new genie plus starts wish me luck I’m scared lol 🫡
This will be my first time at Disney, do I need a lighting lane pass if I dont plan to ride any rides at all? Like do i need it for the shows?
It’s going to change in the middle of my trip and and i have a hopper pass for the first day of the new system😬
Boo
Why is it all so complicated
Disney should just go back to the way it was when it opened…use the left and right queue.. no extra paying. Lines moved quickly and people were happy!!
since you can’t make selections for multipass across multiple parks, does that still apply for single passes? like can i buy flight of passage but also still book 3 rides at magic kingdom for later in the day?
All Disney had to do was raise all ticket prices $25 (a day) and keep Fastpass+ as"free." No Genie. No LL. Just higher tickets with a "free" service.
What does it mean up to 14 days before?
Just bringing back the Fastpass+ feature of several time options makes me happy.
Going to DL in Oct. will this change be implemented for DL?
Gonna do mickeys not so scary for the first time in Disney world, will y’all be making a new video for the 2024 Halloween party? I would ssoooooo appreciate the extra info and love! Love your videos ❤🎉
Do we know if the return window to ride a booked ride will still be 1 hour?
Wow, Disney can take anything and make it so complicated… Universal's system is so much easier
It's not fair for internacional guess to not have the possibility of this service before arriving to Disney. We usually pay for airplane tickets, so our vacasions are already more expensive. I hope this change soon
