Lemon Drizzle Cake | Slimming World | Make It Mondays

This Scrumptious Slimming World Lemon Drizzle Cake is only 1 Syn per slice & is Diabetic friendly. Best served cold with a nice cuppa! If you don’t like Lemons then this works just as well using 1 large Orange. 🙂

There seem to be a few people having trouble making this cake. Please do not come on here to just get the recipe & go off & try & make the cake on your own. Please watch the video all the way through so as the method/technique for making the cake is very precise. If you follow my instructions by the letter you WILL get a perfect cake just like mine 🙂

Ingredients:
50g self raising flour
28g granulated sweetener(+ extra for drizzle)
2 lemons
5 large eggs

  2. I tried to make this today and they came out like dumplings I am so mad. I don’t know what I did wrong but I guess it’s something to do with the British metric conversion to US measurements

  3. Late to the party but I made this last night and oh my god it was amazing and it came out really really beautiful 🍋 🍰 followed your instructions to the last letter. To anybody wondering why it didn’t come out quite right I always find it’s when you don’t get the egg white stiff enough, when you think it’s done, do it for an extra four minutes and fold in super super slowly. Also make sure your oven is really well preheated. Just speaking from experience as I once made ‘brownies’ 2mm thick. 😂😂😂 Plus, I always add a teaspoon of baking powder to anything which calls for rising. 💜

  4. I made this yesterday. Great for that cake fix. I've cut mine in half had half one day 4 Syns and the other half the next day for another 4 Syns. We'll worth it xx

  5. 16 syns because of sweetener. Tasted lovely but so sticked to tin and tin foil because the lemon drizzle glued it to sides. Best using greaseproof paper

  8. Should have watched the video before I tried to make it from the directions! I had no idea what whipping till strong peaks meant! Second one is much better, and looks much less like a deflated brick.

  9. Hi Donna, I am going to make this cake today for our Slimming World McMillan coffee morning tomorrow. When you say 180 deg c do you mean for a fan oven or shall I adjust the temperature? Thanks 🙂
