  1. Some unfortunate pups on the beach. Why? So close to the cool water (if overheat killed them), but they had no idea what to do with it, or another to look for mother … Part of life.

  2. Even those are supposed to be fur seals they look more like sea lions. I also think it was mean that when a hynea grabbed and ate one of the fur seal pups the other fur seals didn't bother to try to save it!

  3. One would think that it would be safer to pup near the water, but I assume that also comes with risks. Dragging them by the scruff towards the sea is the next best thing, I guess. Given how big that number of seals are, you can't argue with the success of the fortunate, lucky, and competent.

  4. Hyenas and seals are two animals that, for some reason, I'd never imagined would ever have any interaction in the wild. Fascinating stuff.
