In 2001, my new hubby and I were flying back from our honeymoon in Acapulco. The airplane was full in coach, but First Class had extra room. The flight attendant came over and asked if one of us would like to move to First Class. Hubby used to fly First and Business class for his job so I jumped up. Like I wouldn't.
When I sat down in my new comfy seat I looked to my left and there was Huey, smiling. He introduced himself and then introduced the News. They were all so down to earth yet so cool. It was cool. The whole thing was cool. I thought I'd feel intimidated because they were famous. I was at first, but after a glass of champagne that went away.
Huey introduced himself to my husband after landing and we talked a few minutes more before he had to go.
Huey and the News will forever be…🎶 too hip to be square 🎶to us.

I was around a lot of famous ball players in my day, but I count that I met Huey, even though I really didn’t. Pre 9/11 you could walk with your spouse to the gate, which I did one time with the kids at O’Hare. I was walking out with them in the stroller and we turned a blind corner and bumped right into Huey. I just said, Huey! To which he replied, Hey man, and kept going. I just loved his music and style.
Psychedelic Furs also rejected a Dylan song. Clover backed Elvis Costello on his first album.
One day, I want to hear someone ask Huey about touring with Thin Lizzy and appearing on their Live and Dangerous album where he gets a shout out.
So glad to see Huey put the puck down to hear better!

I was once mistaken for Huey Lewis in Rapid City, South Dakota, when he was supposed to be there for a weekend show. I believe it was 1982 And for some reason, everyone around me thought I was him it was pretty magnificent. I was at the Howard Johnson in downtown Rapid City. Where there's a bar on top that spends around. It was quite a night and I actually pretended to be him. After everyone accused me of being him, it didn't take long before they found me out. But I did wind up with 2 gorgeous twin black native American Baptist minister's daughter's after that.i have some stories to tell.
Huey Lewis and the News was the first video my kids and I watched on Friday nights on ABC back in the 80’s I believe! I always had a place in my heart for Huey and his music!
OH, and by the way he gave me two tickets to his show. I was joined by the hottest girl in the adjacent bar.

He was just great in that documentary and the documentary was amazing. What a moment in time, what a night, what a stroke of genius to get everybody there, get it all sorted out, amazing. Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it !!
