  1. Going to say if you are looking for proxies for empire and bretonians remember those are historicals with a bit of steam punk or Authurian special sauce. The Perry Brothers who did the early bretonians have a 100 years war range that has plenty of affordable mins.

  2. yes the 40k ork and fantasy orks could be swaped, same size of arm, torso and leg, sculpt where different
i'm happy they left the big orcs for fantasy, i feel they have a better poersonality with this sculpt than AOS skinny 'orcs'

  3. Got 12k of skaven, 9k beasts and at least 10-12k empire. Never gave up on 8th. Collected since 93. Hobby became an addiction so happy the brought it back.

  4. 40+ models already? Sweet sassy molassey. I'm at one complete, one three quarters done, seven half done, and twenty more assembled.

  5. I’ve been experimenting with using actual cloth on minis that have a cape. If you want the cape to have a fixed position you can simply use some water downed PVC glue, dip the cloth in it and then when it begins to dry adjust it into the particular shape that you want. You could also use a spray adhesive or hair spray for a similar effect.

  6. The Legacy armies are also WAY easier to buy at the moment. Most have lots of troops available through Age of Sigmar. High Elves … Nothing available.

  7. Shout to Kings of War minis, the latest plastic sprues from Mantic are super high quality. Love to see them mentioned ❤

  8. Chaos Dwarves are coming to AOS. Skaven are in AOS, Dark Elves, Ogres, Lizardmen, Vampires are all AOS. Chaos Dwarves are coming too.

  9. I would avoid the thirty pieces of silver since it's a religious reference. Ten coppers it's funnier and read better as chump change.
Don't you think that the reason you don't think that the tomb kings don't fit in is that you don't know the lore. You projected tolkienesque fantasy to the old world and so stuff in the old world seems wrong. It is a more classical take on fantasy than aos, but it is still pretty unique.
You still have proven that you know the difference between bretonnia and empire.

  11. Custom "War Swans" from Citadel Journal 36 (page 15) – the whole custom army of Halflings "The Hungry Horde" they truly are glorious lol

  12. It's really interesting to see you warming to the Old World and seeing the pleasure in the more ramshackle nature of it.

I also have to chuckle about your tips for getting an army cheaper as it totally echoes my own mantra of the cult of cheaphammer.

  13. The mto old world characters are mto because they are the sculpts being replaced by the newer sculpts they showed

  14. The armies they chose to omit were because of the time period they set it in. The Old World is set before Karl Franz united the empire, and as such there were no people exploring Lustria where the lizardmen are, nobody knew skaven existed, none of the Von Carstein vampires were at power, and the dark elves are far across the sea too. They still have 9 factions going forward which is still, quite a lot. I'd rather see 9 well flushed out factions than trying to spread themselves too thin.

  15. Aren't the plastic ladz from the 6th edition Empire V Orc box set?
Mine were split between a 40k Feral Ork army, and the remnants are now in my Dragon Rampant Empire force as small Ogre archers.

  17. I don't agree with the Old world not doing well. If anything I think GW is alittle afraid that it will overshadow age of sigmar and I wouldn't be surprised if they kinda shift gears away from AOS to the OW. AOS has shown that it can only really ever be a tabletop game. Attempts to push it into the Video game market and it's books have been alittle lack luster. OW though Is perfect for not only tabletop but books, TV, Movies, and Video games. It's just a stronger IP that more people can get behind. I kinda feel GW is regretting AOS especially with the success of games like Total war Warhammer and Vermintide and TV shows like the Witcher.

Lets just say if the 40k TV show is successful I think GW will try a fantasy show as well and they are most certainly not going to use AOS for that. And if the Fantasy show is successful it will bring a ton of new players into the hobby that also don't want AOS they will want the OW.

  19. The craziest news about that "made to order" biz was the Marauder Giant coming back. My stock on GW is pretty low, but they went up one magnitude with that move.

  20. As I remember there was the "lady of the lake " in the bretonian mythology. So there meaning of damsel of the lady. Sorry if that's not clear I translate from my French memory of the past…

  21. Ok the price complaints about The Old World are getting ridiculous. It's SEVENTY SIX MODELS and the hardcover rule book for $255 with the Bretonnians. the Tomb Kings box has NINETY THREE models for $290. Both armies are 1250 points, ready to play out of the box. Leviathan for 40k was comparably priced at $230 with similar amounts of product inside and nobody lost their mind over that.

  22. to be honest i like old world rules and gameplay but can't really go over the fact that models sucks, they are terrible
