How Nvidia Surpassed Microsoft And Apple To Become World’s Most Valuable Company

World

Nvidia’s rise to becoming a $3 trillion happened in record time. The chip company makes the high-end computer chips that power AI tools like ChatGPT and the cutting edge data centers that more and more companies need access to. But now rivals like AMD and Intel are trying to catch up. Can they take market share from Nvidia, or has the current leader in AI chips gotten too far in the lead? CNBC’s Kif Leswing breaks it all down.

  1. We’re back in “the 90’s” of tech. Watch this bubble burst. If I’m this situation Innovation truly outweighs valuation then this might not be a bubble. I don’t think that’s what’s happening. The competition in Ai is promising. But it could also be a cash grab before the bubble bursts.

  2. They pump NVDA daily, talk about it non-stop on air, daily market upgrades pouting in, but you mention GME and they come after you with a threat of "Market Manipulation" Absurd!

  3. Nvidia is literally just a poser company that caused a bunch of fake buzz. It’s not possible for NVIDIA to actually be more valuable than companies like Apple and Microsoft. Let’s be real here.

  4. The US knew they had to protect Taiwan and bring NVDA to USA. The US military spent over 100 Billion to acquire military tailored chips. No wonder they told NVDA not to sell any chips to China because they will also use it for military reasons.

  5. It's the software that really matters. No one else has the software. It really doesn't matter what the chips cost, everyone will still buy NVIDIA!

  6. IDK anything about company evaluations so I might be talking off the cuff, but this is way too big of a rise in such a short amount of time for there not to be some big fall afterward.

  7. Elon Musk created a phone for himself lol. Why wouldn't NVIDIA be able to create the same, or better, technology?

  8. AI is essentially a copying machine. AI is just a hoax for greedy investors and its backers in AI industries. AI cant solve world climate criss, nor it can generate incomes for 99% of people, AI is just a tool to crawl all the data out there and make a decision based on some static predictions created by some one's algorithms. if every one wants to become a millionares or billionaress, AI will not do it for you!

  9. Made my first large buy with NVIDIA in 2020 and have literally been buying quarterly since then. I am thinking about trimming some at $4,200 per share. Is this a good strategy? Please let me know what you think.

  10. Fun Fact [at least according to ChatGPT]: "Yes, the CEOs of AMD and NVIDIA are indeed cousins. Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD, and Jen-Hsun (Jensen) Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, are related. Lisa Su confirmed this in an interview where she mentioned that Jensen Huang is her cousin. Both have roots in Taiwan and have become prominent figures in the semiconductor industry." 🤣😂😅😀

  11. So Amazon, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, and Alphabet are the NVIDA biggest customers. Are these companies making record profits from their investments in AI is the question.

  12. once it fails to meet the expectation on earnings, it'll turn like cisco systems back in early 2000s. don't forget the insiders already have sold 0.7billion worth stocks over past year.

  13. Nvidia is a strong company, yet it may not hold its position as the top stock for long. In the next 5-10 years, it could fall to 50% or less of its highest stock value. Physical limitations in creating smaller, more efficient, and cooler-running chips will be reached soon. When this occurs, there will be little incentive to upgrade, likely leading to stagnant profits. While waiting at the finish line, numerous competitors will likely aim to develop comparable products, which could further reduce Nvidia's profits.
TVs serve as a good comparison. Once people acquire large 4K TVs with superior color quality, the need for upgrades diminishes. If you purchase a high-end 4K TV today, it's likely to match the performance of models available 30 years from now, contrasting sharply with the significant quality differences seen in TVs from 30 years ago.
