  1. Made me do a little bit of research. The number of what we think of as countries is higher, but the UN recognizes territories. So some countries are territories of another. Some are not recognized by the UN due to politics. So its 193 – 196 if you want to avoid headaches ๐Ÿ˜…

  5. There is a difference a countries and a nation state. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are all countries, but they only make one nation state recognised by the UN.
