  3. The Swedish Christmas program is only named after Donald Duck as "Donald Duck and his friends celebrate Christmas" but it is in fact a medley composited of scenes from all kinds of different Disney classic movies, shorts and shows, e.g. Cinderella, Snow White, Lady and the Tramp, The Jungle Book and Robin Hood. Donald Duck only appears in a couple of segments and Mickey Mouse appears in just as many, if not even slightly more. So, despite the name of the program, there is really no notion of Donald Duck being more popular than other Disney characters in Sweden.

  4. CORRECTION: Finland is NOT part of Scandinavia. Idk how many videos I see where they claim Finland is part of Scandinavia when it’s clearly not. The countries that make up Scandinavia are Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

  6. You left out a lot! Like H&M, Spotify, Skype, SAAB… and when it comes to famous Swedes; where is Zlatan, the Skarsgård family and Björn Borg? Not even mentioning the many successful Swedish music exports, like Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Ghost and yeah, the list goes on. And the Swedish songwriters. Max Martin, from Stockholm, is the third most successful songwriter in Billboard history, just behind McCartney and Lennon. I get that you can't bring up every single success story from each country, but you guys left out so much basic stuff. Did you even do your research? Jonna Jinton got mentioned. I'm a Swede and don't even know who she is. I don't get it.

  12. " Alif Lam Ra, These are verses of the Book and Clear Qur'an.
(That makes things clear) It may be that those who disbelieve wish ardently that they were Muslims.
Let them eat and enjoy life, and let (false) hope beguile them. They will come to know!
    (Qur'an,15:1–3)
" The verses of the Book ": the contrasts in the modes of Allah's Revelation and it's reception by man are pointed out,but not illustrated by detailed examples as in Joseph's perspicious story. In cig.1we read " A Book ….. revealed ….. to lead ….. out of ….darkness in to light": the theme being Abraham's prayer for man to be rescued from the darkness of false worship into the light of Unity. Here in xv.1 we read
" Ayats (or verses) of the Book,– of a Qur'an that makes thing clear (or perspicious)": the theme being an explanation of evil, and how Allah's Truth is protected from it.

The time must inevitably come when those who allow themselves
to be deceived by falsehood or deliberately break Allah's Law will find themselves in a terrible plight. They will then wish, ardently and again and again, that they had sought Allah's Will and walked in the light of Truth. That time at be early or late,– in this life, or at death,or at the Day of Judgement, but it must come.

Man's own highest interest requires that he should awake to the Reality before it is too late for repentance.
The foolish and the wicked set the great store by the pleasures of this world. In their pride they think they have all knowledge. In fullness of knowledge they will see how wrong they were.
Meanwhile those who have received the Light should not for a single moment wonder at the apparent prosperity of the ungodly in this world. They should leave them alone, confident in the goodness and justice of Almighty Allah.

  19. Sweden's response to Nazi invasion of Norway

When the Soviet Union attacked Finland, many Swedes rushed to help. But Sweden's response to Germany's invasion of Norway in 1940 was less neighbourly, says historian Henrik Berggren.

In the spring of 1940, Hitler sent 10,000 troops to invade Norway, mainly to secure an ice-free harbour into the North Atlantic and to gain better control of the iron ore supply from Sweden. The port of Narvik in Northern Norway was considered strategically important by both sides in the war both since the nearby mines provided large quantities of iron ore and because the ice-free harbour could be used to ship cargo from Kiruna in Northern Sweden even during the cold winter months.

Norway managed to fight back the first wave of troops, but was eventually forced to surrender a few months later after the Germans had sent naval reinforcements and additional troops.

Norway stayed occupied for five years until the war ended in 1945, and even though many Swedes had helped their Finnish neighbours in the Winter War against the Soviet Union the year before, we did very little to support Norway against the Germans, says journalist and historian Henrik Berggren.

"It wasn't felt as keenly because Finland felt closer. The Swedes were scared and felt like whereas they could have gone to war for Finland that wasn't even on the table for Norway", says Berggren.

But even if Sweden officially chose not to help their Norwegian neighbours in need, there were Swedes who risked their lives smuggling food, clothes and other necessities across the border.

Erik Pihl was a railway worker at the time and he tells Swedish Radio's local channel in Värmland, in western Sweden, how he used to bring food and messages across the border on a trolley in the middle of the night.

Many Swedes also helped by harbouring Norwegian refugees in their homes and helping them cross the border, but Henrik Berggren says that while there are a few stories like this, there are also many stories that put Swedes in a less flattering light.

"Swedes were scared when Norway was invaded. We certainly didn't help out. The Norwegian king was turned away at the border. People helped. You can certainly find examples of both ordinary people and policemen and border guards who did and who had great sympathy for the Norwegians, but you can also find people who were, maybe not sympathetic with the Nazis, but very bureaucratic and not willing to bend the rules to help.", Berggren says.

Not only had Sweden chosen not to assist its neighbouring country, but it was soon uncovered that Sweden had even let armed German troops use the railway network to fight the Norwegians.

In the years after the war, the relations between the two countries were strained and Berggren says that it took decades to repair the relationship.

"There was a strong anti-Sweden sense at first, that Sweden had sided with the Germans or at least not done anything to help them. Over the years it has been overcome to some extent, but it does appear. When Olof Palme spoke out against the Vietnam war in the 1970's and made these comparisons with Nazi terror a Norwegian journalist commented saying 'This is all fine, but where were you in the 1940's when the Germans were committing these atrocities in Norway?', so, it's certainly still there.", says Berggren.
