  1. After every turn, fist bump. Why? They're not American. No matter what the score, touching, feeling and slapping each other. It's moronic.

  4. Itโ€™s so interesting how much worse the averages are in pairs, shows how much itโ€™s a rhythm game.

    (I donโ€™t play just watch )

Is there any other PDC pairs events would be interesting to see if people could pick their own teams would the averages go upโ€ฆ

  5. The way carel Sedlaczeks dart fly through the air is pure beauty, perfect parabola without any spinning itโ€™s like watching videos of laminar flow

  6. Throwing in pairs destroys my throwing rhythm. I donโ€™t blame any of the top players for missing some darts. Itโ€™s so much harder to throw with such a long break between throws.

  7. I bet there are more than a few p*ssed off Aussies not ordering Spag Bog for dinner tonight…. Losing to the Italians!

  9. A bit of a disappointing performance from Australia (especially disappointing for Heta). It was all trebles for show and doubles for dough for Heta in particular.

  10. SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT:

Czechs couldn't break past average of 80 this tournament and this is the consequence. Lukasiak's checkouts in the first half of the game were merciless, and I'd say he was the best player of the 4 in that match. Gotta love that Sedlรกฤek's 138, though, that was class!

Austria looked really solid today. I wouldn't be surprised to see them play a semifinal on Sunday evening. Taiwan deserves all the credit for even getting here, though. Unfortunate that they couldn't match their performance against Ireland. Still, getting 4 legs against this year's Austria is really good!

Not much to say for the third game. Poland would be an even opponent for the four teams that played before them, and they somewhat held on with Scotland in individual legs. But if Gary and Peter have 47 % on the checkouts against you, then just "keeping up in individual legs" won't shift into winning those legs. Objectively, 2-8 is probably a tad too cruel of a scoreline considering how Poland played.

The last game was a nerve-wrecker! A perfect example of scoring not meaning a whole lot if you can't close the leg out: You have 3 darts for checkout when trailing 0-1, then 3 darts for checkout when trailing 0-2, then 4 darts for checkout when the game was 6-6… that's 10 darts which could put Australia ahead, but none of those darts hit the target. A checkout disaster rounded up with 6 missed matchdarts. I wish all the best for Italy tomorrow against their opponent from the Benelux. And huuuge congrats on the historical result of reaching the quarterfinals!
