But besides the bold captaincy of Rohit, fate played a big part at least in the final. With Klassen and Miller in the middle, middling everything how could the right hander edge an innocuous slow offcutter from Hardik?? For starters,it was a tactical mistake playing 3 spinners at Barbados. They all had economies in double digits when you were protecting less than 200. Jadeja as a left armer was a pale shadow of his illustrious self. Both Axar and Kuldeep were plundered, till destiny and Bumrah intervened. Now with Rohit, Virat and Jadeja taking a bow I think if led well (Shubhman’s captaincy isn’t upto scratch) the upcoming Zimbabwe tour will put on show a better Indian side. We have better 1 down than the flailing Pant. We have a better Rinku Singh rather than no-feet Dube. But, yes this campaign was a fun roller-coaster ride to be remembered for times to come.
