About ‘Growing a World Wonder’
The Great Green Wall is an African-led project with an epic ambition: to grow an 8,000km line of plants and trees across the entire African continent. Its goal is to provide food, jobs and a future for the millions of people who live in a region on the frontline of climate change.
‘Growing a World Wonder’ captures the story of the Great Green Wall in awe-inspiring Virtual Reality (VR). The film follows Binta, a young Senegalese girl, as she and her family tend to their section of the Wall. It explores the challenges they face and how the project is already transforming their lives for the better.
Created using the latest VR camera and drone technology, the film captures both the epic ambition of the project and the intimate human story of the people at its heart.
A venturethree film created with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), developed in association with Apache, Al Maxwell & Surround Vision.

Nice documentary thanks for video keep going 🤠 greeting from Morocco*
An African farmer (Mr. Pii9 that regenerated his farm: Plant the rain. If they only plant trees that will do little for them, they need to first/simultanuously capture ANY rain that falls when it falls. And of course make sure that the wild animals and lifestock do not eat the seeedlings. Which is a likely event because there is not much else that grows. Modest or medium sized earthworks that prevent erosion, making sure there is no runoff (by slowing the rain down so it has time to infiltrate the soil and it can go underground, or fill up ponds.
Usually trees have to be watered at least in the first years, if water catchment is set up and they have planted hardy trees at some point the trees will get to ground water that has hopefully been recharged a little bit in the meantime or at least not fallen even more.
Else they must continue to water (and that can become a major problem, the Al Bayadh project in Saudi Arabia had a few years where they got funding for catchments, earthworks and the water that was brought in. Then funding was cut and they stopped watering – 27 months of no rain and around 24 with no irrigation. Only the most hardy trees survived, but there were some successes, they know what works, and they had the earthworks in place, so after the draught they had a relatively good rain, that helped.
Beautiful..Following this green wall wonder in ernest. All the best.
WOW !
what do you get when you split a poop into three equal pieces?
turds
How’s it going lately?
Investeer ontwikkelingsgeld in grote moestuinen.
