A global IT outage is affecting major services including airlines, banks, healthcare and broadcasters across the world.
It is believed the meltdown is related to an issue at the software company Microsoft and global cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike.

As a retired Windows Engineer, I always updated my Windows after a period of time, just in case… I always thought that companies should do the same.
Antivirus runs as a driver in Windows. Basically a ring 0 process. Fucked update to antivirus will trigger BSOD, ring 0 apps have system level privilege.
