Professional Canadian hockey player Alex Formenton turned himself over to police in London, Ont. on Sunday.
The former Ottawa Senators left winger was seen entering the police station around noon.
This comes as the latest in the ongoing investigation into allegations that members of the 2018 World Junior team sexually assaulted a woman. On Thursday, five players, including Formenton, were asked to turn themselves in to the police regarding the allegations.
“Alex will vigorously defend his innocence and asks that people not rush to judgment without hearing all of the evidence,” Formenton’s legal team said in a statement to the media.
Currently, Formenton is on an indefinite leave from his hockey club in Switzerland, for what the team cited as personal reasons.

She admitted to agreeing to have sex with the first player – not the next ones. Although, from what I read, one of the players made a tape asking her if she consented and she says yes. Why would you feel you had to make a tape and why did Hockey Canada paty her $3.5M already.

"sexual assault" is not well defined. It could literally just mean touching a girl's arm against her consent and that could be "sexual assault". That's why it's ridiculous until we know the facts.
Recently a black hockey player murdered an NHL player on ice , there was no photo shown of the accused nor has there been any updates.

Sexual abuse in Canadian Hockey was and still is very present, Hockey Canada knew it and swept it all under the carpet for decades. Sickening.
It's going to be a tough trial for prosecutors. Some people make it seem like a slam dunk case but it's going to be messy.
Almost 6 years later after all five players are wealthy and zero evidence. Just another woman who wants to get paid.
Why was this case already closed in 2018? And then re-opened? Sounds questionable on the face of it. But I’m not making a judgement until the facts of the case are disclosed in a court of law, and a judgement is made. Until then these men are free and innocent.

Justice system in Canada. A woman with no evidence but her accusations can approach the police and make false statements. The police then automatically charges the accused.
Canadians need to learn that there is a reason why we only get one role model every 20 or so years. Bedard, crosby, gretzky… The culture has to change. Locker rooms need adult supervision at ALL times. These kids need to hold eachother accountable for their off the ice antics. You cant have children growing up watching grown men lose control of their emotions every night and then say "i wanna be that guy one day". Monkey see, monkey do. Its the exact reason why gang and gun violence is so bad in the south. Children started idolizing ice cube back in the 80s, and now 40 years later look what happened…
No need for actual evidence in sexual assault cases anymore, just ask Trump.
