The fast food locker machine is called an Automat! They were super popular in America from the 1900s-1960s.
Im from the Netherlands and Amsterdam is such a tourist trap with everything I wouldn’t do much there, if you wanna find something more authentic you should go to smaller places like Haarlem they have a yummy fish place in one of the parks a cat cafe and more! People can be really nice like on Friday nights if you go out to the clubs as well! (Sorry for the kinda late message)

I live around the corner of Teds and indeed, there other places in the same street where you can get a better lunch or cakes. Also for fresh stroopwafels for a normal price go to the several food/veg/markets in the city
