Pardoning Nixon was one of the big mistakes in history. He should have been held accountable, tried, convicted, and sent to jail. NO ONE is above the law. The United States of America has no King, no Monarchy. We are a government of the People, and the rule of law. At least, we're supposed to be. Nixon f**ked around, but only found out a little bit. If we had thrown the book at him like we ought to have done, future Presidents would be much more cautious about breaking the law. We should have set a precedent, then. Maybe we would have saved ourselves the trouble this time around. If not, at least we'd have the precedent to say, "Even Presidents are not above the law."

Yes he has been convicted, however if he appeals, he is technically still a free man, untill all his appeals for this matter has been exhausted and the guilty plea is upheld, then he officially by law becomes a convicted criminal. Unfortunately.😢
