China SHOCKS The World With This Bridge!

World

The world’s longest sea bridge connects China and Japan and has been opened to ordinary traffic.
The bridge connects the eastern coastal city of Qingdao with the suburb of Huangdao, which is located in Jiaozhou Bay and spans 42.4 kilometers.
The English Channel, which is 32 kilometers wide at its narrowest point, would be easily crossed with the bridge.
Previously, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in the United States state of Louisiana held the world record for being the longest bridge at 4 kilometers in length.
It took four years to construct, and according to state media, the project cost more than ten billion yuan. More than 5,200 pillars support the structure of the bridge.

  6. i am trying to figure out the cost per-person of the combined total of these monster-projects … I suppose China does benefit from the lack of elections which would provide legislators who might worry about their voters' wallets? I keep thinking how Canada has no high-speed rail systems yet, probably because there is not the population that could pay for such a venture.
