  1. It really is nice to see you again on tv. So when are you going to run for president? Seriously America needs someone like you

  2. The difficulty is – we are bombarded so much with information, true and not. When I have to push back against my peers, family, friends etc it requires so much energy on my part that I am slowly being worn down to the point of burning out which affects my entire life. I can see why some people want to bury their head in the sand. I know that this is a tactic, to keep us exhausted from engaging, but it's effective!

  3. Please, Run for the presidency already! Talking is cheap. We all know that you can spark the change. Please do it.

  4. When did John Stewart get so freaking insightful. I remember him at the daily show the first time and this is John Stewart at a whole nother level.

  5. That's an unfortunate interpretation of the terms analog and digital.

Come on Jon, you're not that old. 😉

  6. Digital literacy is just as important as actual literacy now. Unfortunately, our politicians are (largely) not digitally illiterate so they aren't fit to legislate on topics related to the internet.

Galileo's "Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems" was banned for nearly 400 years. The most progressive thing people in power can do is die off and make way for a new generation eith new ideas.

TL; DR: We need younger politicians.

  7. The internet can simultaneously make you the smartest and dumbest person at the same time… It's fascinating…

  8. We went from Paul Harvey to Rush Limbaugh, and it just went downhill from there.
Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Machines suing the worst offenders of the BIG Lie.

  9. A.i ( large language models) will be used through digital analogue machines..

You think 'analogue' is bad.. you are mistaken, its the analogue that makes it tangible.

  10. How much of this conflict, though, is because of Murdoch's long-term plans to use this 🖕🏻digital ideology …?

  11. When I was growing up in the 1960s you got 15 minures of local news and 15 minutes of national news until the mid 60s, when they went to a half hour each, respectively. People would read the morning paper and get some in-depth coverage in Newsweek, Time, or Look magazine. Political humor was handled in Mad Magazine.

The thing about the Internet and the digital age is it can make you far better and far worse informed than ever before. You can travel maps of galaxies for billions of light years or you can delve into the Flat Earth community. You can study ancient archeology and languages, or become versed in Ancient Alien theories. There are vast online communities for pseudoscience and disinformation.

And this goes back to politics. When reality is subjective to personal beliefs or religious exemptions, there is no objective reality.

  12. Mmhm, sure. Interesting take.
At what point did we successfully navigate the time, the present, the moment, when it went from founding fathers meeting occasionally to being available all year round? Or did we
