Did you know that the world’s oldest restaurant is in Madrid, dating back to the year 1725? It’s even verified by Guinness World Records!
I had no clue that this place existed until someone commented on my Instagram post this morning telling me, so I walked in the door this evening and was welcomed with open arms and access to film all of the hidden gems inside this 16th century building.
Aside from being so ancient, the food was absolutely spectacular — roast suckling pig was almost as good as the lechon in the Philippines!

St. Peter Stiftskulinarium in Austria is actually older. It just doesn't hold this title because it was forced to close a few times throughout its history.
Look it up, Christopher Columbus and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart have eaten there.
Right… Now have a look at Sean's bar in athlone, Ireland which is the oldest pub in the world, opened in the 10th century

Sorry, the world oldest restaurant resides in Austria, The St. Peter Stiftskulinarium, established year 803. That is actually only the 6th oldest business in the world. The top5 oldest are all Japanese.

Oldest restaurant in the world ? My uncle is a chef at the Owariya, which was created in 1465 in Kyoto and still in service. So i am sorry but the botin with its 300 years of age is still much younger than the nearly 600 years Owariya in Kyoto ! So get your fact straight man !

In June 2002 my parents took me to the Sobrino el Botin in Madrid for my birthday. I do not remember anymore what I ordered that time, other than I had gazpacho soup to start with, and red wine. Hopefully I might return in 2022.
Thought there was an older one in Poland or Czech Republic? Don´t remember exactly.
But very neat that thois one is still in bussiness.

I think there is a slight mistake, Mozart was born in 1756, younger than Washington. He didn't write his first symphony until 1764 when he was 8.
