THIS RESTAURANT IS UNBELIEVABLE!

Did you know that the world’s oldest restaurant is in Madrid, dating back to the year 1725? It’s even verified by Guinness World Records!

I had no clue that this place existed until someone commented on my Instagram post this morning telling me, so I walked in the door this evening and was welcomed with open arms and access to film all of the hidden gems inside this 16th century building.

Aside from being so ancient, the food was absolutely spectacular — roast suckling pig was almost as good as the lechon in the Philippines!

  1. St. Peter Stiftskulinarium in Austria is actually older. It just doesn't hold this title because it was forced to close a few times throughout its history.
Look it up, Christopher Columbus and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart have eaten there.

  2. In June 2002 my parents took me to the Sobrino el Botin in Madrid for my birthday. I do not remember anymore what I ordered that time, other than I had gazpacho soup to start with, and red wine. Hopefully I might return in 2022.
