If car companies didn't charge like £150 for a new key then shady companies wouldn't charge nothing for a replacement. Supply and demand. Car companies getting greedy creates problems
In Canada, The thieves are just coming into the house with guns and taking the keys by force.
The best option in my eyes is the ghost immobiliser
You can have any OBD port you want but it doesn't get around ordering a new key does it? And 40 years in the trade mot time you'll need the OBD extension and in my experience most customers get dizzy finding a locking wheel nut key!
Blaming the manufacturers and not the government or police that allow thieves to steal and ship cars out of the country. When thieves break into houses blame the windows and doors manufacturers too…ridiculous.
I have a Ford transit custom when I brought it the obd port had been moved and is in a locked metal box. Seems to be a good idea after watching this
Great video. It’s not just manufacturers it’s also Thatchams fault. Manufacturers will work to the level that thatCham set so they need to raise the level.
Great video!
i think there wasn’t much motivation to start the clio
So you're talking to someone who has stolen £3.5mil of cars. Why not set him up with the rozzers?
I believe not only manufacturers have to step up their game but also the police… Because unfortunately they absolutely don't care and won't bother when car goes missing, I had 3 attempts of someone trying to steal my tow truck in a span of 1 year and even with CCTV footage no one from a police showed up… All they do is give people over a phone a CAD number so they can call their insurer to report stolen vehicle…
And my question is where are all ANPR, Bus lane, ULEZ cameras when a car goes missing tracking a car shouldn't be that hard with all that tech on our roads
Buddy of mine just wired a kill switch to the ignition relay. And hid it in the glove box. They’d have to trailer it
Yep thats the pigs for u. Too busy eating donuts somewhere
🔫
Literally a week after I showed part 1 of this video to my dad, he decided to sell his €300,000 Range Rover and buy a Bentley instead because they’re safer 😂
Easy fix, buy cheaper cars that no want to steal… brands knows the morons will get the insurance money and buy the same model, but eventually that will came back and byte Im the "bottom"
Mark, I can’t help thinking you just informed untold scalawags how easy it is to steal vehicles if they have the brain to do it 👍😳……😆
Great vid again mark these car company’s need a brain like my mrs because I havnt got a clue how that works
The only problem with the OBD port being changed is what if you lose it or when someone sells you a used car what if they don’t include it? Now imagine how much the dealership would charge you to get that replaced? If I know dealerships (and I do) it’s gonna be an arm and a leg for something like that.
If car manufacturers allow unverified keys to be issued, they should be charged as an accessory to theft. Also it's about time they should be held legally liable for security failures. The product is not fit for purpose. Make the manufacturers pay and they'll fix the problem.
Would love to see some videos using decent immobiliser alarms ie Ghost , Pandora and decent steering locks like dislok👌🏻. Just to show car owners what could be used.
I’ve moved my port which is also cable tied around for when they find it and use a wheel disc for the steering wheel as I know they can get in no problem in seconds but want to make it as awkward as possible so I know I can go to work the next morning 👍🏻
manufacturers should be ashamed. but I recon the government are behind this somehow. if the thieves know the personal details etc and police do nothing. more stealing form us by the higher powers, government,
bring back the old vids these vids are boring
Ah the old days. Half a tennis ball and a hammer.
Fuckin brilliant video – keep at it 💪🏼🔥🔥🔥
My solution is that I drive a shit 11 plate Astra, nobody wants it
Until it inconveniences the top 1% nothing will truly change…….
Ciao hello to all 👍❤☕👍
Does anyone know if the use of the pincode of a Tesla Model 3/Y can stop this?
Teslas aren’t stolen so surely just copy what they do?
I would Love to have that OBD Port fitted to my car
Or every new car purchase comes with a wheelgun and jack, after you park your car you take all the wheels off
