For five you can also get 85 stamps.

Me trying to get 100% on SM3DW hearing that I can't get sparkling stars if I used invincible tanuki suit: PANIK!!
Me hearing I can just replay the levels I used the invincible tanuki suit it without using it one this time: Kalm

How can I know which stage I used shine Tanuki?
@GameXplain Something is inaccurate about this. I just defeated Bowser in World 8 with all green stars and stamps collected only UPTO that point (world 8) and I was immediate granted 2 stars. I noticed a lot of other sources online also say the Second Star is obtained by having all Green Stars upto World Flower, but that does not seem to be the case. It's hard to tell what the actual condition is without painstakingly trying out all possibilities, but another website (Den of Geek) says the second star is obtained when you get every green star upto World 8. Also that website says the Third star is obtained by getting all stamps only upto World 9 (star). But, I got every stamp upto world 9 and I don't have the third star yet. What gives?

I finished3D land with sparkles. Now to finish up 3D World + Bowser's fury by beating every level with every character
Do you need to get the tip of the gole pole with every character
is there a way to know which levels you used the white tanooki suit for?
Quick guide:
1st ⭐️ – beat Bowser in World 8
2nd ⭐️ – get all green stars (World 1 – World Flower)
3rd ⭐️ – get all stamps (World 1 – World Flower)
4th ⭐️ – get a gold flagpole on all levels (touch the top of the flagpole)
5th ⭐️ – complete all the levels with all 5 characters (including Rosalina)
And finally, to get your stars to sparkle✨, you mustn’t use the assist blocks.
Managed to beat Super Mario 3D World in a week on my Switch even completed Champion’s Road but i didnt do all of characters yet just only Mario.
Ok hypothetical question:
If I were to complete the whole game with one character (no use of the white tanooki suit) and then I were to play with the other 4 characters, would I be allowed to use the tanooki suit then or do you have to not use the tanooki suit for all 5 characters?

I finally did it. I started a new file a week ago, trying to see if I could beat the game before it came out on switch. After days of death, collecting, and replaying, I finally obtained that 5th star, with the sparkles. I bought this game back in 2014, and while I beat bowser countless times, this was the first time I beat champions road, played all the levels as each character, and abstained from the white tanooki completely.
I just did this! You don't have to do world crown for 5 stars.
When completing every level with every character does that apply for the mini bosses and mystery boxes too. If anyone can respond that would be great thanks

Nintendo were drunk when they thought: Hey! Lets let these poor players that wants to 100% the game to finish every single level with every character! Now he will basicly beat the game 5 times now! Annnnd SOLD
I wish there was a 6th stars that meant you beat world crown. That means beating champions road, the captain toad level, and the 30 star mystery house (plus the stamp house but that doesn’t require skill) with all green stars collected, all stamps collected, the top of the flag pole, and with every character. Only then did you truly 100% the game.

Does it count if the other players are in a bubble if you complete the level?
