  1. You might mention the Red-Winged Blackbird. I have seen them and once in a while, photographed them chasing Northern Harriers (with a wingspan of up to 48"), Bald Eagles, and Turkey Vultures. Northern Harriers are very defensive when they have young in their nests (They are ground nesters.) I have witnessed them and photographed them chasing a Great Horned Owl, and photographers, including myself. I have seen photographs of them harassing a Bald Eagle.

  2. The bird that surprised me the most was the crow. I knew they are very smart, but did not know how aggressive they were.

  3. The ancient tragedian, Aeschylus. That's how he died.
    From the WIki:
"In 458 BC, Aeschylus returned to Sicily for the last time, visiting the city of Gela, where he died in 456 or 455 BC. Valerius Maximus wrote that he was killed outside the city by a tortoise dropped by an eagle (possibly a lammergeier or Cinereous vulture, which do open tortoises for eating by dropping them on hard objects[24]) which had mistaken his head for a rock suitable for shattering the shell.[25] "

  4. Bluejays can be your best friend .. if you stand outside and hold a peanut up in the air and ''call'' them, they eventually will fly over and take it… eventually they will come down and take a peanut off your hand .. sitting with your legs on the porch railing, they will land on your toes and walk up your leg to get the peanut… really.. I taught a blind friend how to do this.. and gave him such a gift.. TRY IT… TAKES PATIENCE, BUT WORTH IT…

  5. Pelicans have despicable eyesight? That didn't make much sense. Did you mean to say, pelicans have "impeccable" eyesight?

  7. My favorite is the Harpy Eagle's. Then the Golden Eagle's then the Bald Eagle's then the Crow's and Raven's.
