So much hate for Risen. Risen 2 is one of my most favorite games of all time, and even tho the third was admittedly worse, it's still a cool game with an interesting story and awesome characters

There's a difference between open world and sandbox. Open world means go anywhere and do anything. Sandbox is open world but with really no rhyme or reason to anything. For example: Skyrim is open world, Minecraft is sandbox. Now all sandboxes are open worlds but not all open worlds are sandboxes. And the reason there are so many bad open world games it that devs are making game open world just for the sake of being open world not understanding that there's a lot of stuff that goes into a game being worth being an open world.
Horizon Zero Dawn… whole game is literally just go there, bring or kill – sometimes with a twist… go there, investigate and bring or kill. This game felt like the compilation of the worst side quests of Assasins Creed games ever. Carefully selected to create the most boring and one dimensional piece of trash you can play in these days.
Amazing Spider-Man 2 actually worse than the original Spiderman 2 for PC?
Wheelman, Gat out of Hell and Fuel are nowhere near the worst of anything, they're highly "okay."

Agents of Mayhem should have taken Gat out of Hell's place. Fun game overall, but too glitchy, repetitive and directionless for me to call it good.
Superman Returns was awesome. Crazy nostalgia for that game

Tbh I actually like Superman Returns. It’s not a great game, but it’s like a guiltily pleasure of mine. I loved flying through Metropolis breaking the sound barrier and using his powers pretty much endlessly and at will. I hate when games have a power bar that goes down every time you use your powers smh.
The problem with making a good Superman video game is always going to be gameplay, Since Superman is just so OP, the only way I can imagine a good Superman video game is if they really cranked up the difficulty of the gameplay mechanics so that the challenge the game brings matches the character's virtually limitless powers.
It has to be a grand game about overcoming insurmountable threats in spectacular/bombastic fashion, while having to make extremely difficult choices in the process. That's essentially Superman in a nutshell, in my opinion.

SOTC would top my list. But everyone loves it since it was on 3 generations of consoles already.
Driv3r was great graphically but felt lifeless most of the time.
Two Worlds is a masterpiece a delicacy of fine gaming.
Should add Day One Garry's Incident to the list. Supposedly the worst open world game ever.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 does not belong on here!!!!! That game is incredible and it made SGW Contracts 1 and 2 even better!!!! I loved that the shooting was more realistic and was futuristic too. They got it amazing on Contracts 1 and 2!!!! I also loved the story line too!!!!! Was interesting and had a cool ending to it.

I have PTSD from Superman Returns. The map was bonkers — don’t rightly recall mountains in Metropolis. Easy completion, yeah, the endless grind sure was easy. Had to rubber band my sticks overnight for the dumb flight achievement.
