When it comes to the most popular genres of video games, first-person shooters and open-world games are often the first that get mentioned. But there’s just something about the freedom of open-world games that is unlike anything we’ve ever witnessed in gaming. The ability to do whatever you want at your own pace is different compared to any other genre of video games out there and there are a certain few games that do this perfectly.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are often viewed as the 3 best open world games ever created and for good reason. They all have those elements that keep you coming for more: good gameplay, great story and plenty of content. But just because these are typically seen as the best open world games doesn’t mean they’re the only good ones. You can’t even mention open-world games without also talking about Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. Even Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Horizon Zero Dawn and, the one and only, Minecraft are all incredible in their own right. And don’t even get us started on the up and coming Cyberpunk 2077.

New Vegas is not a Bethesda game. It was developed by Obsidian. Can't imagine how you got away with that mistake in the comments section. New Vegas wasn't an improvement on Fallout 3 because of quests, but because of writing and meaningful choices. If anything Fallout 3's Capitol Wasteland was a better encapsulation of a post apocalyptic world than a red desert.
Fortunately you ended on an objectively wrong point for which you can't completely be blamed for.

Even Zelda had an amazing open world game on the SNES which got even better on GBA.
Botw has been called the best game of all time by multiple game journalists and rightfully so it has also been a thing that you should play every other open world game before botw so your not disappointed with other ones i mean I do see there point and I agree with it ( remember this is only my opinion you don’t have to agree)

A lot of negative comments about CyperPunk 2077 in the comments. Patch 1.5 recently fixed a lot of the buggy issues. The main storylines are fantastic. Night City is awesome. There's still some flaws, but it is an incredible gaming experience if you stop focusing on the negativity.
