After a jammed-pack year of action, the street skateboarding season will head towards its conclusion with the World Skateboarding Tour: Street World Championships 2023 in Toyko, Japan. Given the contest is doubling up as a World Championship, the points on offer in Tokyo will be worth more than at a typical tour stop, adding an extra dash of excitement to proceedings.

Out to defend her title in the women’s event will be Brazil’s Rayssa Leal, who recently claimed victory at Street League Skateboarding’s Super Crown in Sao Paulo, while in the men’s division, a new champion will be crowned with Aurelien Giraud withdrawing from the contest for personal reasons.

Among those expected to compete will be Nyjah Huston, who holds an impressive perfect record at the World Skate events he has attended, reigning Olympic champions Nishiya Momiji and Horigome Yuto, and Australian teen star Chloe Covell.

  1. I often disagree with the judges. 86 for back smith by Momiji (3rd attempt) but 85 for kf fs boardslide. Everything is scored a little high (76 for crooked?). They also underscore Akama IMO
